Henry Happenings
March 25th, 2024
Principal Message
First...Reader in Me logs are due tomorrow by 9:30 AM due to the short week!
I hope this message finds you refreshed and rejuvenated after a well-deserved spring break. As we return to our routines, I wanted to take a moment to welcome everyone back for the last quarter of the school year.
First and foremost, I want to extend my gratitude to all our families for your continued support and partnership in your child's education journey. Your involvement and collaboration truly make a difference in creating a vibrant and thriving learning environment for our students.
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we have many exciting events and opportunities planned for our students. From engaging classroom activities to special assemblies and community projects, there's something for everyone to look forward to.
We finished our One School, One Book project and the Read-A-Thon. Our students logged 212,733 minutes of reading and we raised $8,355.25. What an amazing feat that our students read so many minutes in the first few weeks of March! We are thankful for your generosity and support!
Your input on how your child learns is important to our decisions on class placement in 2024-2025 for each child. Please take a moment to fill out the survey for each child that you have attending Henry. Thank you so much for your input. Henry Parent Input Form 2024-2025.
Also, as we plan ahead for next year, if you have a child that will be entering Kindergarten in 2024-2025 please register as soon as possible. It is imperative that we know how many students will be in our entering Kindergarten class so we can prepare with the correct number of staff. If you have questions about Kindergarten registration please click here for more information.
Keep reading below to learn more about attendance letters, book fair, solar eclipse, and so much more.
Go Bulldogs!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jodi Oliver

Attendance Letters Coming Soon for Students with More Than 10 Absences
A reminder that the district asks us to send out standardized attendance letters for students with more than 10 absences. Our school goal is for all students to be present at least 95% of the time, which equates to fewer than 8 absences over the course of the school year. These letters offer each family an up-to-date understanding of their child’s attendance to date this school year.
We understand that illnesses happen and some appointments can only be made during school hours, but we appreciate your support toward your child achieving 95% or higher school attendance for the school year.
Parkway Solar Eclipse Viewing on April 8th
On Monday, April 8, 2024 all of North America will be able to view a Solar Eclipse. Parkway will be providing Eclipse Shades for all students and staff in Parkway. The Eclipse Shades meet the ISO and CE standards for safe viewing. If you do not want your student to participate, please click here. You must submit a new response for each student.
How can I help prepare my Parkway student to view the eclipse?
- Review this Safety Presentation with your child.
- Watch this short video about safely viewing an eclipse and discuss with your student

Notes from Nurse Munch
Spring allergy season seems to be starting a little early this year. If you would like your child to have allergy medication on hand in the nurse's office, it needs to be brought into school in the original container with a signed Medication Authorization Form, which can be found here.
