A-C Reads
A-C Reads kicked off this week! We are so excited to continue reading "Almost Super" with our families! Please be sure to check out the reading calendar (linked here) to stay on track. Also, mark your calendars for A-C Reads Movie Night on January 24th (invitation linked here). Thanks to elementary librarian, Mrs. Davis, for organizing and facilitating this opportunity for our students!
Updated Student Assessments
Throughout the school year, our students have been taking assessments to provide data on their strengths, areas of need, and growth over time. The next round of assessments students will take will be conducted during the last week of January and the first week of February. Students will be completing diagnostic assessments with Renaissance Star Reading and Star Math, as well as a benchmark assessment with the STAR CBM. Students working to build their decoding skills will also be assessed using the CORE Phonics Survey. This information will then be used to plan classroom instruction for the whole group and differentiated instruction for small groups of students. This data will also be used to form intervention groups based on students' needs.
If you have any questions about our assessments or how they are used, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Exciting Volunteer Opportunity!
We need volunteers to present Junior Achievement programs in our classrooms.
For as little as an hour a week (5 visits), you can make a difference in the lives of young people in your community.
JA programs provide important life skills through hands-on educational activities focusing on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
Our programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and real-world applications, enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
