Message from Dr.Taylor
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Monday, March 31, all students viewed an important "Finish Strong" video during their 2nd period class. This 7-minute video included essential information to help our students end the year successfully.
The video also covered:
- Important end-of-year expectations
- Answers to student questions about our ongoing construction projects (including parking updates, phasing plans, etc.)
- Critical information for seniors
The video link allows for closed captioning and can be translated to all major languages through YouTube's features.
Please encourage your student to pay close attention to this important information as we work together to ensure a successful conclusion to our school year.
Special Message from Associate Principal, Mrs. Libert
The United States is experiencing an unprecedented surge in measles cases across 18 states and jurisdictions. Measles is highly contagious and can be fatal, especially in school-aged children.
Vaccinations are essential for safeguarding children and school communities by preventing disease outbreaks, protecting vulnerable students, minimizing absenteeism, and ensuring compliance with school and state regulations. Your help is critical in ensuring that students are vaccinated and that proper outbreak control measures are taken to prevent the spread of measles.
Special Message from Associate Principal, Mr. Souza
It has come to our attention that groups of seniors at area high schools have been participating in a trending game called “Senior Assassins,” a hide-and-seek style game involving water guns. These games are taking place on both school property and in the community.
While there may be no malicious intent involved, games such as this have potentially dangerous consequences as people not involved can quickly misinterpret the intentions of those participating.
This is not a game condoned by Mundelein High School and we want to remind students and parents that school conduct expectations remain in place throughout the school year. Bringing a water gun (or anything resembling a weapon) to school, disruption of the learning environment, and aggressive behavior have consequences for students.

Mulch Fundraiser
As the weather warms up, it’s time to get outside and get your yard ready for the summer. Our annual Mulch Fundraiser will be on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 from 8am-4pm (weather permitting). This year, we will be hosting the fundraiser out of the MHS parking lot. Bags are $4 each. The attached flier has more info. I love this fundraiser because every dollar the kids raise, they must physically earn. It’s a long two days of manual labor, which I believe is good for them.
Here’s the best part, we can also deliver and spread it for you! No yard is too small or large for us to complete. Email me (don’t reply all), if you would like to place an order.
Not sure if you want to order yet, that’s ok. Feel free to just drive by and pick up what you need on the day of, we will have extra bags available. I have attached our flier with more info.
If it's not too much trouble I would love for you to help us get the word out. Please share our flier on your neighborhood Facebook groups and any other social media platforms. Please reach out if you have any questions. Thanks for your support.

Coaches Corner - Boys' Cross Country and Track and Field
Submitted by Coach Rutz
The indoor season is over. Yesterday we traveled to Bloomington with a select group of athletes to compete in the Illinois Prep Top Times against many of the best track athletes in the State. It had been 6 years since we had been invited to take part in this meet, and we returned with our largest number of qualifiers. While we came away with one medalist- the 4 x 800 Relay (Andrew Weaver, Erick Cordova, Nathan McCreight, and Aidan Sweet), which took 7th. It was a great opportunity for us to compete, and I'm proud of all our athletes.
Coaches Corner - Girls Softball
Submitted by Coach Ryan
Mundelein Softball hit the road for spring break, traveling to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The girls played their hearts out, beating some formidable opponents from Ohio. In our second game of the trip, Taylor Pyke (so.) had an exciting walk-off grand slam to win the game. We had a great time exploring the area, taking in a Lumberjack Show and riding the Alpine Roller Coaster down the Smoky Mountains. We even had a special visitor on our deck the first night at our cabin — a black bear! It was quite the surprise!
After the break, we had our first game back against Buffalo Grove H.S. at home. The team took care of business, defeating the Bison 15-2. Sophia Zepeda (sr.) had 11 strikeouts. This is such a fun team to watch! Come check out a game!
Coaches Corner - Boys Volleyball
Submitted by Coach Willis
Our season is now in full swing with our first dual match against Palatine ending in a huge program sweep and the Varsity Highland Park Tri this weekend. The boys at all levels continue to bring energy and determination, building on their experiences from the week before. With each match, they're growing stronger, sharpening their skills, and really starting to gel as a team. This is shaping up to be an exciting season for Mustang volleyball.
Looking ahead, we’re excited for our next games—Tuesday, April 8 at Vernon Hills and Wednesday, April 9 at Zion-Benton. These are crucial matchups, and we’re ready to continue building momentum. Each player has been pushing themselves to elevate their game, and it’s been amazing to see the progress from week to week.
As always, we appreciate the unwavering support from our fans! Whether you’ve been with us since day one or are just joining us this season, we love seeing the stands filled with Mustang pride. We’re confident this team has what it takes to make the season one to remember. Go Mustangs!
