February Edition

Congratulations Warriors! We made it through the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year! It was filled with highs and lows, but it true Warrior fashion we rallied together and got through it. As I reflect on the past five months, I can't help but smile and be grateful. I am proud of our staff for always supporting our students and I am proud of our students for pushing each other to do better. As we navigate through second semester I can't stress the importance of supporting each other and asking for help. These two things will help make the rest of the year go by smooth!

This past weekend nearly 140 students attended the Winter Ball. It was an absolutely beautiful event and the students had a blast. They danced, snacked, socialized, and played hot shot basketball. There were ear to ear smiles and it was exactly what our students needed. I want to extend a huge thank you to Mrs. Dumars, the sophomore class, and the sophomore parents for making this event happen! Stay tuned for a link to the photos!

The Warrior basketball teams are on fire! The boy's team finished regular season play 18-2, 12-0 in league while the girl's team finished 16-4, 10-2 in league play. Post season begins February 7 at Walter Strom Middle School where the boys will host Warden in the first round of districts. The girls will host Tri Cities Prep on Thursday. Tip off for District games will be 6:00 and their is a gate fee for all fans.

Warrior wrestling has dominated during Districts and are sending four wrestlers to Regionals as well as two alternates. Regionals are Saturday, February 11 at Highland. Keep up the hard work Warriors!

Congratulations to the Warrior cheerleaders for bringing home the first State Championship of the year! The CERHS cheerleaders had a combined 3.760 grade point average that nudged them ahead of the competition. We are incredibly proud of your hard work! Keep it up girls!

The Knowledge Bowl club has been revived for the 2022-23 school year. Co-advised by Mr. Berk and Mrs. Harper, the team has attended four competitions this season, and they will be competing at the regional competition on February 15th at Ellensburg High School. If the team finishes in the top two 2B teams for ESD 105, they will advance to the state-level competition in March.

Knowledge Bowl is a team trivia competition. Teams are comprised of 4-6 students. Each meet consists of one written round and two oral rounds; the regional meet will feature three oral rounds in addition to the written round. There are 45 questions per round. The Cle Elum-Roslyn team has done well this season and even received applause at the end of a recent round due to a series of correct responses to challenging questions.

The brand new CERHS Outdoor Club is in full swing! So far they have made two trips to Snoqualmie Summit for skiing and snowboarding. Club advisor, Seth Miller, had a vision that our students could learn to love the outdoors and the area we live in, if given the right opportunity! So far, Seth's vision is coming to life. The kids absolutely love the Outdoor Club and their meetings are packed! It is not too late to join the club! If snow isn't you thing, that's okay; they have spring activities planned as well!

Seniors, now is the time to fill out local scholarship applications. Students can go online to the school website for updates or check with Mrs. Brooks in the career center.

The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District Board of Directors approved the new Warrior logo on January 9, 2023. Boosters is now selling merch with the new logo and it looks amazing! We can't wait to see our Warriors rock the new logo on their uniforms.

• Mrs. Dumars and the sophomore class- Winter Ball was so much fun!

• Maintenance- You guys rock and are seriously the BEST! Thank you for clearing the parking lots and walkways.
• Food Services- the new lunches are delicious! Thank you so much for all of the great changes coming from the kitchen.
