Northmont's Culture Playbook
Thunderbolts work together, take responsibility, and grow!
The Culture Playbook is a blueprint for our district's culture. It clarifies the specific behaviors and results driven by our beliefs.
- The Northmont Culture Playbook is divided into three sections: belief, behavior, and outcome.
- The behaviors outlined in the Playbook are essential to how we engage students in the classroom and operate our schools.
- We aim to create an educational environment where everyone consistently engages in behaviors that produce exceptional outcomes.
- Video: This month, your child is learning that "Thunderbolts Work Together!" The video below illustrates the value of empathy.

Your child is learning about Northmont's Culture Playbook, and now we are sharing our Playbook with you. You may have also noticed this language in our district calendar!

Parent/Teacher Conference Tips!
Northmont's parent/teacher conference week is October 7-10. Schools are closed on October 11. Below are some tips for families as you begin thinking about conferencing with your child's teachers.
Before the Conference
- Schedule a meeting with the teacher and explore alternative times (in-person, virtual, or phone) if needed.
- Review your child’s work, grades, and attendance via ProgressBook (grades 2-12). If you do not have a ProgressBook account, email your name and your child’s name and request a registration key to progressbookinfo@northmontschools.net.
- Talk with your child about their strengths, challenges, and goals, and prepare questions or relevant information to share with the teacher during the conference (keep in mind that conferences can be 15-30 minutes long).
During the Conference
- Discuss your child's performance openly, including strengths, weaknesses, and standardized test results (FastBridge).
- Share your thoughts, goals, and concerns about your child's progress.
- Ask about the support your child receives at school and how you can support their learning at home.
After the Conference
- Write down what you and the teacher will do to support your child.
- Ask how you can contact the teacher and how the teacher will contact you if concerns arise.
- Plan to discuss your child’s growth and progress at spring conferences!
