Have Gratitude - Gratitude over Attitude!
“This is easy” is not allowed!
Parent-teacher conferences this week! In my book, the fall conferences are the most important of the two. As parents, please use the time to press for ideas to help encourage your kids at home and find the best ways to grow them. We have the best group of teachers in the state; use them for their expertise!
I posted my core rules, hoping that you, as parents, can understand where I come from and how I try to lead. The two rules I want to focus on are “tell before told” and “treat others how they need to be treated.” These two core rules seem to have been moving me this past couple of weeks, and I wanted to share how our students have moved me because of these rules.
Treat others how they need to be treated—I have seen so many examples of our very own students who see others in need and come to help. This happens often when they see one of their friends having difficulty entering the school, on the playground, or doing school tasks. So many of our amazing Positive Polecats come to the rescue and jump in to help without being prompted. There always seems to be a helping hand ready to serve.
Tell before told - The most significant positive thing that can happen to a person is to be guided by positive feedback from others, especially those in charge of them. It is so awesome to see so many teachers, parents, and staff members building our students up and telling them they are worth it and they are talented. It is a way to inspire and build confidence in others. Tell someone that they are doing well and making a difference before the world tells them that they aren’t. We all know the world is there to do that to us.
Thanks for another great couple of weeks. I look forward to seeing families at conferences!
As Always - GO POLECATS!

Unity Day - Wednesday Wear your Orange
Wednesday afternoon, Lincoln students and staff will be celebrating Unity Day. The day is in part an anti-bullying day, but more of a day that expresses the importance of numbers and speaking up against bullying. Unity Day was very special to Ms. Martha and now important to Mr. Webb. We are encouraging everyone to wear their orange tomorrow and be ready to dance!
