Media Skills help Students Grow and Glow
Students are welcome to the Media Center for classes on Reading Comprehension, Test-Taking Skills, Writing skill development, Informational Reading, Research lessons, Check-out, and more.
Teachers just need to contact the Media Specialist to create a collaborative lesson on present lesson and standard information. Classes are welcome to come just for checkout. Please remember if students have a book there is never down time in class. There is always a win for reading.
Digital Library Cards
Students are afforded a digital library card from the Clayton Public Library. This library card allows students to get access to online books, music, magazines, Hot Spots, computers, and BrainFuse which is an online tutoring services. We no longer have Tutor.com, however, BrainFuse has many of the same features and allows students an online tutor from 12pm until 11pm each evening. How can magazines help me teach Relatable and Relevant Lessons
Yes, we have access to over 407 digital subscriptions for our Mundy Mill Middle School patrons - students and adults! The magazine articles are accesible to all students at one time to complete assignments that are both relevant and relatable. Just recently, a class studying animal characteristics used a Ranger Rick magazine article and learned not only the concept, but also:
about an animal that they had never heard of before and learned how to cite sources using MLA format (Modern Language Association). They even learned about a resource that will encourage them to read more - Magazines. Please let me know how I can help you reach your students with a variety of resources.
The Reading Bowl
Yes, we have a team and we need your support of our readers. Please ask them if they are getting ready for their great event, if they are reading the books - electronic and print! we need all the encouragement we can get for our event on January 25th! We also would like to encourage your students to read some of the great books that we have on the Sora platform. They can read audiobooks and eBooks on the Sora and Destiny platforms. The Sora Team sent a holiday message to each of you and I want to share the Sora statistics with you for our school for books and magazines.

High Museum - Alecia Keys and Swizz Beats exhibit
Please make your way to the Atlanta High Museum to see the limited engagement of the Exhibit of the Alecia Keys and Swizz Beats art collection. The collection is amazing and engaging. The collection includes images of Gordon Parks and other artists.
The Mundy Mill Razorbacks had an opportunity to visit the Museum
and the GIANTS exhibit On December 4, 2024. Many of the students commented about how wonderful the experience was to them as individuals. Our Razorbacks also had an opportunity to create artwork that employ STEAM concepts.
