hydroflask lid with straw
my product is Made of durable polypropylene which is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications including packaging and labeling, textiles, stationery, plastic parts and reusable container and is reusable. Polypropylene typically starts with the distillation of hydrocarbon fuels into lighter groups called “fractions” some of which are combined with other catalysts to produce plastics (typically via polymerization or polycondensation)
how its used and for how long
My lid is used for my hydro flask water bottle. I used to have the regular lid that you have to screw off and drink but I decided to buy this straw lid because it would make it a lot easier for me to drink water and I don't have to keep buying extra plastic straws that I have to throw away every day
no longer needed?
the material that the lid is made from doesn't break down easily, its easily flammable and can melt . polypropylene containers do not leach harmful chemicals into foods or liquids, Its NOT made with BPA either
Repurposed
the lid comes in a cartoon slip and that can be recycled but once the actual lid is no longer needed you can always reuse it to make some kind of 3D art, it could be melted and molded into new products. Recycling polypropylene helps keep this superhero out of landfills to live another life as colanders, food storage containers, cutting boards, outdoor rugs, car parts and more.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
In order form importance I think that Reusing is most important and recycling should be the last option. Before throwing anything anyway it is important to find ways we could reuse it. For example an article of clothing, it can be reused and be cut into something different; headband, necklace, jeans into shorts, dress into a top etc. We can always find new and efficient ways to repurpose something. Reducing is 2nd on my ranking, after we have found ways to reuse our products we can reduce waste by selecting products that are not wasteful in their packaging and some that are able to be recycled or reused. Recyling should be our last straw, after we have reduced and reused everything as much as we can. Recyling is great but its not always the best outcome since it does do some harm to products produced sometimes
