SEAS Faith Formation
May 2025
A Note from Driskill's Desk
Dear Families,
Happy May! As the beauty of spring unfolds, we also extend a very special early Mother's Day blessing to all the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our parish community. Your love and dedication are a true gift, and we appreciate you deeply!
May holds a cherished place in our Catholic tradition as the month dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary. In celebration of her, we warmly invite you to a special Children's Mass on Sunday, May 4th at 10:00 AM. During this Mass, we will participate in the beautiful tradition of the May Crowning of Mary. To make this celebration even more meaningful, we invite all children to bring a flower to offer to our Blessed Mother. We eagerly anticipate celebrating with your families!
The arrival of May brings with it a mix of emotions as our weekday faith formation classes draw to a close for the season. While I will sincerely miss seeing all the children each week, I am grateful for our continued connection at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass.
We have much to rejoice in during May and June as our students prepare to receive the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. Please keep these young people in your prayers as they embark on these significant steps in their faith journey.
Thank you wholeheartedly for your steadfast support of our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Faith Formation program. To stay informed about all our news and upcoming events, we encourage you to subscribe to Flocknote, check the information screens in the parish buildings, visit our website at https://seaschurch.com/ , or follow us on social media. :

God Bless,
Mrs. Driskill

Elementary News
He is Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Elementary Faith Formation has been busy following in Jesus' footsteps. Throughout Lent, the children participated in fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. Some classes gave up their sweet treats for Lent, while other classes made lists of the extra kind things they could do. Rice Bowl money was saved up and donated, and many classes took time to walk and pray the Stations of the Cross.
My personal favorite was Palm Sunday! I loved seeing the kiddos parade into the children’s church singing, “Hosanna, Ho Oh, Hosana!” It was a joy to praise Jesus the Savior together.
Our Lenten family night was another special event. After learning about the true meaning of Easter, the children took turns washing their parents' feet. Then, everyone took part in a reenactment of The Last Supper. We had exactly twelve kiddos serving as the disciples and one serving as Jesus (totally unplanned!). Witnessing the Holy Spirit at work in our church was so touching!
Easter Sunday was incredible! What a celebration! A special thank you to Father Allan for his wonderful Lenten and Easter songs. Our SEAS kids are so blessed to have a priest creating and singing songs for them. Thank you, Father Allan, for sharing your musical gift.
We are wrapping up the year with our First Communicants making their First Communion. They have been working hard all year to prepare for this beautiful sacrament of initiation. Please join me in praying for them:
Thank you, families! We look forward to seeing you in June for VBS! Our theme this year is True North. Registration opens May 5th. - Mrs. Mary Koonce, Elementary Coordinator

Safety Procedures
The safety of our students, families, volunteers, and staff is a top priority for our Faith Formation Ministry. It is important to us that parents feel comfortable and confident while their children attend classes at SEAS. We take several steps to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all.
Each of our volunteers and all of the staff are required to take Safe Environment Trainings. Our Good Shepherd and Elementary students must be picked up from their classroom to guarantee that they leave with a trusted adult.
To help with safety measures, we ask that parents read the below handbook provided by the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
