Principal's Notes
Dear Parents,
The teachers and I look forward to seeing you at our Back To School Night tonight for our 7th and 8th grade parents and/or tomorrow night for our K-6 parents! The evening begins at 7:00 on both nights. The 7/8 Back to School Night begins in the upper cafeteria. Tomorrow night's Back To School Night begins in the church. I hope you find the evening to be informative and helpful as we begin this, our centennial school year. See everyone then.
I am saddened to inform everyone that our librarian, Mrs. Gail Woo, decided to retire after serving as our school librarian for the past thirteen years. Gail loved children's literature and loved all of our students. She inspired everyone who visited the library. She will be missed by all of us, but we know that she deserves this time to make new memories with her husband, daughter, son, and her beloved grandbabies! Thanks, Gail, for making our library ...simply THE BEST! I will be looking for Gail's replacement...stay tuned!
We have always taken great pride in keeping our students safe here at St. Anne School. Since the start of school, many teachers, parents and I have noticed a serious issue and want to bring it to everyone's attention immediately and ask for your help. We have seen many parents double parking in front of the houses on Funston Avenue OR parking across the street from the school on Irving Street and then walking their child across the street to the school yard. Crossing in this manner is NOT SAFE! Our crossing guard, Moon, is working at the Irving Street and Funston Avenue corner to ensure everyone's safety while crossing over to the school. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE SCHOOL AND THEN WALK YOUR CHILD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET OVER TO THE SCHOOL YARD!! Please use the crosswalk, or, better yet, pull your car up to the school yard side of Irving or Funston Avenue and let your child enter the yard SAFELY! Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep your child and every family's child safe.

VIRTUS Online Training and Fingerprints Compliance
Starting this school year, EVERY PARENT who is planning to volunteer for field trips, retreats, overnights, library, health room, reading programs, or any other school/parish activity which involves being with students, must complete the VIRTUS ONLINE training AND be fingerprinted. Please complete the course and fingerprints as soon as possible so that there are no delays with your participation in school functions. Remember to select “SCHOOL” when registering at https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/ to help us verify your compliance.
Parents who have completed the course but have not completed fingerprints have been placed in an "Inactive" module until fingerprints are complete.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Perez at perez@stanne.com.

STAR Testing
STAR Testing began Tuesday, September 3 and ends on September 13 for grades 2-8. Each class has 2 testing sessions within the time period. Because we want every child to do his/her best, here are a few tips for you to help your child.
Be sure:
1. that your child gets a full night's rest each day.
2. that your child eats a healthy breakfast.
3. that your child arrives to school on time.
4. to not schedule appointments during school time on those dates.
