National Custodian Day
D103 custodians spend hours each day ensuring that classrooms and common areas are clean for students and staff. They go above and beyond in assisting teachers and students with additional tasks.
On Custodian Appreciation Day, Oct. 2, District 103 staff gives a BIG thank you to these individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure clean schools for employees and students.
“District 103 is fortunate to have a team of engaged and dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our staff and students comfort and safety. No matter the issue, the team is always ready and prepared for whatever comes their way. Day in and day out, this team’s pride is on display in the work they do for the students and staff" said Eric Jonasson, District Director of Facilities.
Thank you to the D103 custodial team!
Not Feeling Well - Follow These Sick Day Guidelines
Recently we have noticed an increase in ‘flu-like' symptoms and documented influenza cases (both A and B). See symptoms below. If it is a documented flu case, please let the school nurse csegal@d103.org know immediately. Review the CDC flu guidelines for more detail.
You will also need to inform the Absence Line through email at dw_attendance@d103.org for each day your student is sick.
To help prevent the spread of illness, we would like to give you some guidelines to help with your decision on whether or not to send your child to school. We ask that you keep your child home if they:
Have a fever of 100.4 (oral) degrees or higher.
Have cramps and or vomiting.
Have a sore throat with fever (see below).
Have a persistent cough (dry or productive).
Have diarrhea (three or more episodes in 24 hrs).
Have a rash or open and draining sores.
Have symptoms that prevent them from participating in school, such as:
Excessive tiredness or lack of appetite.
Headaches, body aches, earaches.
Severe sore throat (could be strep-throat even without fever. Other symptoms of strep throat in children are headache & stomach upset. Contact your pediatrician to assess or diagnosis strep throat).
