Spring Term - 2nd May 2024
Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
At last I think it is safe to say we are in spring and that the warmer weather is certainly welcomed by all! At HJS we ensure that all children have access to a range of enrichment activities and this week year 6 have begun their visits to Kingston Mosque. I spoke to a number of children about this visit and were all extremely positive about the trip and spoke confidently, and respectfully, about the different aspects of the Mosque that they had seen. The other two classes will complete their visit next week and I am sure they too will be excellent role models for the school.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such brilliant facilities at HJS and a beautiful building to learn within. So beautiful that we have been asked to complete some filming next week for a Times TV advert. This will take place on Wednesday 8th May within the school day and, although we will not have any children staring in the advert, it is a wonderful opportunity for the school and its community. We have been working closely with the crew to ensure that the day does not impact on the children's learning.
I hope you enjoy the bank holiday weekend.
Mr J James

Messages from the Office
Year 5 and Year 6
On Thursday 6th June, Laura Noakes will be visiting HJS to share her new book with us. If you wish you purchase a book please do so on Parentpay by 23rd May. You will be able to have your book signed by Laura on the day.
HJS Sporting Achievements
HJS netballers competed in the final 8 of the Borough Championship on Wednesday. Unfortunately, despite a valiant effort we were beaten by a strong Sacred Heart team and were unable to progress to the final 4. Miss Stone and I are immensely proud of the squad’s amazing achievement this year with the team going further than ever before to make it to finals night.
Well done to you all!
Congratulations to Seb in 6W who was lucky enough to be a mascot for the Harlequins game at Twickenham at the weekend.
Year 4 News
4B had a great visit to the library on Tuesday. The weather was on our side and most of us borrowed some fabulous books. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon!
Year 6 News
