Updates from Dr. Bell-McRoy
It is almost time for Thanksgiving, and I just want to express to everyone how thankful I am for all of you. As we wind down the calendar year, let's finish the semester strong and continue to put in the daily work needed to continue to grow and develop. Our Winter Concert is coming soon and I am so excited about the music!! Let's use this week to get lots done so that we only need to polish and refine when we return from the Thanksgiving Break.
The Winter concert will take place on Monday, December 16th, 2024 at 6p in the MVHS Performing Arts Center. Admission is $6 for adults and free for all students and young children. Tickets can be purchased in GoFan.
We do have a few items of business to take care of before the end of the semester. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the items below. My email is zandra.bell-mcroy@gcpsk12.org.
Band Class Things to Do
1. All members are expected to pay a $50 instructional band fee for the school year. These payments can be made in My Payments Plus. Payments were due by Oct. 31st. These payments cover a band shirt, access to our music theory program, and instructional materials for the school year.
2. All members that use a school-owned instrument are expected to pay a $30 instrument rental fee for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the instrument each semester. This is a county policy. Payments were due by Oct. 31st in My Payments Plus. This includes all percussion students.
3. All members are expected to wear the approved concert attire for all concerts and performances. If you have concert attire (formal black dress or tuxedo), you may continue to wear that. If you do not have concert attire from previous years, please purchase the concert attire. For those of you that still need to order concert attire, I have provided information on how to order directly from the company below.
