Dragon Weekly
Monday, May 6 - Saturday, May 11
May has arrived... which also means that summer is not far away. The last day of school is Friday, May 24. Between now and then, there is a lot going on in and out of the classrooms. Parents/Guardians, it is important that students are in school everyday.
Stay the Course, Dragons! You've Got This!
ATTENTION PARENTS OF MOUNTAINBURG STUDENTS: The USDA recently approved Arkansas’ 2024 Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) plan. Students who are already individually approved to receive free or reduced-priced meals or who are eligible for SNAP or TEA benefits will automatically receive $120 on an EBT card.
For students who are not already individually approved for free or reduced priced meals or who are not eligible for SNAP or TEA benefits, their parents/guardians must complete an application, and approval will be based on household income.
Parents of students who are not automatically eligible can access the Summer EBT application online or go to a DHS county office to pick up an application. The application form can be turned in at a DHS Local County Office or emailed to SummerEBT@dhs.arkansas.gov. Please do not return these to the school.
If parents or guardians have any questions concerning the Summer EBT program, they should contact the Department of Human Services at the designated Summer EBT Email. SummerEBT@dhs.arkansas.gov

2024 Governor's Scholastic Honors Day
Warren Watkins and Mallory Provence were selected to represent MHS at the 2024 Governor's Scholastic Honors Day held on Saturday, May 4 at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock. This selection was based on their academic achievements while in school.
Accuplacer
What is the Accuplacer? "ACCUPLACER helps colleges and workforce training providers gauge student readiness for required coursework and identify areas where students may need additional support to succeed."
A representative from ATU-Ozark will be at MHS on Tuesday, May 14 @ 9:00 AM to administer the Accuplacer.
- The Accuplacer is a valuable tool for students entering college who may not have the ACT scores needed for their math or Composition courses. Scoring high enough on the Accuplacer will help them avoid taking remedial courses.
- MHS students who are interested in taking concurrent courses next year but did not have the required score on the ACT Aspire from Spring 2023 will need to take the Accuplacer.
Parents - If your MHS student wants to take concurrent courses next year, they need to email Mrs. Bradley - jordan.bradley@mountainburg.org. There is also a packet that they need to complete and give to her as well. To get on the list to take the Accuplacer, please let Mrs. Bradley know this week.
State-Bound!
