Welcome to the 24-25 School Year

The Rock Canyon Counseling Department is thrilled to welcome you to another fantastic year in the jungle. We strive to support all of our students throughout their high school journey and help them reach their fullest potential. RCHS and the district are committed to delivering a student-centered comprehensive school counseling program focused on academic skills, social/emotional growth, and postsecondary readiness. While the majority of our lessons are disseminated through Seminar, students are always welcome to schedule individual appointments with their counselor.


In addition to providing universal lessons to our entire school, counselors work closely with their administrators to monitor students’ academic progress, behavior, and attendance in our MTSS meetings. We believe in early intervention to keep all of our Jags on the path to graduation and success after high school.


We look forward to partnering with you, your student, teachers, and administrators in supporting your student during their time here at Rock Canyon High School. Together we can continue to build your student’s self-advocacy, resilience, curiosity, and integrity to help them be the best versions of themselves in high school and beyond.

Senior Meetings

Senior students can now schedule their senior meetings with their counselor, where we will discuss graduation requirements and post-graduate plans. Scan this code to schedule your meeting time. Attached HERE is a helpful workbook for seniors and their families.

Greater Denver College Fair- SAVE THE DATE

Mountain Vista High School will be hosting a college fair on Saturday, September 28th. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with college representatives from all over the country. More details will be available soon including registration instructions and event details.


Career Showcase in Douglas County

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to network with people in our community and learn more about different careers and industries. We highly encourage students, and especially seniors, to ask questions around different skills, training requirements, and education background for different career fields. It will be a fun opportunity for students of all ages. If you are interested in attending one of these events please see the below options:

Event Information

Save the Date Postgraduate Student & Parent Night

Save the date for Thursday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00pm for our post graduate parent night. The target audience for this event is current seniors & juniors. We will have a variety of speakers and breakout sessions. Speakers will cover a range of topics from college financial aid to military recruitment to elite college admissions requirements. We will send out a flier with more information in Mid-September. We look forward to seeing you all there!

United States Military Academy Admissions Event

Event Details:

During the Admissions Brief, we will discuss:

  1. What West Point Offers: Learn why West Point stands as a premier institution for leadership development, academic excellence, and character growth.
  2. Life as a Cadet: Gain firsthand insights into the daily life of a West Point Cadet, including academics, athletics, and leadership training.
  3. The Application Process: Understand the steps to apply to West Point and gather valuable tips to enhance your application.
