RPC Families,
In a couple weeks we will be welcoming you back to school. This is a good time to start preparing your family for the transition. Below are some helpful tips. A few things to know about our building. RPC is a pre-k through grade 2 building. The wings are set up as learning communities. That means that there are kindergarten through 2nd grade students sharing a hallway or area of the building. We feel that this will allow the students to be leaders in the school and serve as role models for one another.
Since we have moved to multi-grade level hallways, when the students arrive for school on the first day we will have all kindergarten students meet in the cafeteria. All 1st and 2nd grade students will meet in the gym. The teachers and staff will be in these locations with welcome signs ready to greet their students. We will do this for the first few days of school. The teachers will take the students to their classroom and then on a building tour. We want to make sure the students feel comfortable and safe in their new space.
For dismissal, we will dismiss the kindergarten students first and then grades one and two. Please make sure that your child knows their dismissal plan. If your child is not taking the bus home, the office and your child's teacher need to know. Please read the arrival and dismissal procedures linked below for additional information.
