What A Wonderful Week One!
Huskie Corner
Our primary focus as educators is the safety and well-being of our students at Heim Elementary. In support of this initiative, please read below for important safety notes.
- The doors open at 8:00 a.m. Students will not be permitted to enter the building prior to that time, as there is no supervision available for them. All students must be in the building by 8:20 a.m.
- All doors at the school are locked during the school day and visitors will be “buzzed in” upon their arrival. You must present a valid government-issued identification to obtain a visitor badge. This badge MUST be worn at all times while you are in the building. Visitors may not go to classrooms unannounced because this interrupts the instructional program. Someone from the Main Office will be more than happy to call the classroom if you need to stop down there for any reason.
- Our playground is getting used every single day by our students at recess and we love to see active minds being paired with active bodies! As a reminder and in support of posted signage at the playground, our students have first preference when at the playground. Our families and community members are welcome to use and enjoy these facilities outside of school hours or whenever school is not in session.
- As a general reminder, students should not use or carry cell phones during the school day. Additionally, smart watches such as Gizmos, Cubitts, Cosmos, or TickTalks are permitted to be worn and used as conventional watch; however, students should NOT be using these devices to send text messages, make video or phone calls, or record photos and videos of other students.
We look forward to working with all of you this year to continue to make our school the best it can be for all of our Heim Heroes!
Sincerely,
Mr. Patrick Quast, Interim Principal
Mrs. Lindsey Johnson, Assistant Principal
