PLAN AHEAD FOR DROP OFF AND DISMISSAL
FKAA started a project that will have rolling closures. Please make sure you give yourself enough time in the morning to drop off your student (s) and in the afternoon to pick them up. You may drop them off as early as 7:20am to make sure they arrive on time. Also, there may be some bus stops that will temporarily be out of service while a section is being worked on. Below is the message from FKAA:
Update: FKAA work to resume 3/9 at Tavernier Creek Bridge. A new traffic control plan has been approved by the Florida Department of Transportation, in coordination with the Monroe County School District, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Details at https://bit.ly/PlantationKeyProject

PKS Concert Band wins 1st Place!!!!
Congratulations to the Plantation Key School Concert Band for their First Place win at the Music USA Concert Band Festival at Universal Studios Orlando! Under the direction of Katharine Yarbrough, the ensemble delivered an amazing performance that impressed the prestigious judges. We are incredibly proud of the Plantation Key School Concert Band. Your commitment and passion for music have earned this well-deserved recognition and inspired aspiring musicians in our community!

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
STUDENT OF THE WEEK K-2
Lucia Solano Mendoza is an awesome kindergarten student. Her dedication to learning and her willingness to help others demonstrate her strong character. She is respectful and supportive, which contributes to her own success and creates a positive learning environment for her peers. She shows her PKS pride through her enthusiasm and positive attitude. Great job Lucia!
STUDENT OF THE WEEK 3-5
We are thrilled to recognize Owen Harrelson (5th grade) as the student of the week! Owen is consistently well-behaved, helpful, and a great leader. He is always ready to learn and gives 100% daily. He is not only a great student, but he is also kind. His respectful, polite, and responsible nature makes him a role model for his peers. Owen never quits and always tries his best at everything he does. He exemplifies the qualities we value in our PKS students. Keep up the fantastic work, Owen Harrelson!
MIDDLE SCHOOL HAPPENINGS

Edjon Memaj is our middle school Student of the Week! Edjon consistently follows all IBelieve expectations and always shows positive behavior! He is enthusiastic about learning and always has a positive attitude. Not only is Edjon ready and eager to learn each day, but he is also always respectful and responsible. Thanks for being a PAWSOME Panther, Edjon!
