Week Of December 14,2020
Principal's Den
Welcome to our last calendar school week for 2020! I hope you are all well and staying safe. I encourage you to continue practicing safety precautions during this time including social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing your hands. The sooner we can get this pandemic under control, the sooner we'll be able to return to our school.
This Friday is a minimum day. Our instruction will end at 12:00pm and then you are on your way to winter vacation for three whole weeks. We return on January 11th. I hope you all are able to enjoy your families and loved ones.
This week we are celebrating our STAR students of the wee. Congratulations to Allison Aragon from Ms. Richards' class and Eric Negrete from Ms. Cordova's class. We have many other nominees for this special award and I will read their names in the morning announcements.
This month we are recognizing a teacher for the month of December and a classified educator as well. Our teacher of the month is Ms. Bigbie and our Classified Educator of the month is Mr. Jose Franco, our head custodian. Congratulations to them both.
Please know that we are continuing to have lunches for you from 11 to 1 every day. I hope you'll be able to stop by and say hi.
In this weeks SEL lessons with Ms. Dahlman you will be learning about different strategies for problem solving. This is a very important life skill and I hope you will learn something valuable from these lessons.
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
Our goal is to be college ready once we graduate from High School and that starts today!
Sincerely,
Genaro García
