Say Hello to Fort Myers Rescue Mission
SCC has been a mission partner with Fort Myers Rescue Mission for over 20 years and it is one of our oldest partnerships. SCC is privileged to support and serve FMRM and its residents. FMRM is located close to downtown Fort Myers on Martin Luther King Drive and is a lLighthouse for that section of town. It is a faith-based, evangelical, holistic, residential mission for 80+ men ministering to them physically with meals/accommodations, GED classes, job placement counseling, and especially to their spiritual needs with worship services, Bible classes/studies, daily chapels, counseling/discipleship sessions, as well as weekly prayer meetings and regular evangelistic meetings. The men are required to be sober/drug free as well as make weekly financial contributions and also perform work related tasks at the Mission. They also see a definite need for a women’s residential shelter in Fort Myers and the Mission is in the long process of building a new dining hall and converting the old dining hall into a women’s dormitory. Their prayer is to be able to raise funding for that project and minister to 20+ needy and many times desperate women.
