We are going digital - Parent Portal is open

How to access the portal information locatetd on the website under the Parents & Students Home page
We are excited to announce our transition to a digital platform, marking the launch of our parent portal on Aspen. This portal serves as a valuable resource for parents to closely monitor their child's academic progress and attendance. It is a key initiative prioritized by our leadership team, aimed at enhancing parent engagement.
Parent engagement in our school community involves a collaborative effort between parents and school staff, working together to nurture and improve the learning, development, and well-being of our students. We are dedicated to fostering this shared responsibility by actively reaching out to parents in meaningful ways, and we look to parents to actively support their child's learning and growth.
Research underscores the significant impact of parent engagement on fostering positive educational and health behaviors in students. Furthermore, it reveals a strong correlation between parent engagement and improved educational outcomes, such as enhanced school attendance, higher grades, and improved classroom test scores.
To facilitate this transition, we have opened our parent portal and are dedicated to ensuring that all parents become familiar with it. We understand there may be a learning curve, and we encourage you to attend our monthly parent coffees. For additional assistance, you can visit our webpage, where you will find a one-pager on the front page in the Spotlight section, that can guide you through how to access the parent portal. Rest assured that login credentials were either sent to you with the first progress report or made available for pickup during our back-to-school night.
We firmly believe that the introduction of our portal will achieve the following:
- Empower students to take ownership of their academic journey.
- Foster improved communication between parents and teachers.
- Strengthen the vital connection between the school and home, ultimately benefiting our students' education and development.
We are enthusiastic about this effort and eagerly anticipate the ongoing enhancement of our efforts to strengthen the connection between our school and your home.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to a productive and engaging school year.
Tips for a Successful Conference
As a guardian, you are your child's first and most important teacher. At home and school, we have something very much in common- we all want our students to learn and do well. When caregivers and teachers talk to one other, each person can share important information about the child's talents and needs. Each person can also learn something new about how to support the child. If you haven't done so already, Parent-Teacher Conferences are a great way to open communication with your child's teacher.
The suggestions below can make the most of the Parent-Teacher Conference so everyone wins, especially your child.
Before the conference:
Review your child's work.
Talk with your child about how they think they are doing in school.
Make a list of questions to ask during the conference.
Think about ways you would like to be involved in your child's learning, and ask how you can support your child at home.
During the conference, you want to find out how your child is doing by asking questions like:
Is my child performing at grade level?
What do you see as his/her strengths?
How could he or she improve?
Be sure to share your thoughts and feelings about your child. Tell the teacher about your child's likes and dislikes, and what they are good at, and explain the areas in which they may need more support and assistance.
