IGNITE's Weekly Newsletter for October 7 - October 11, 2024
Greetings IGNITE Family,
We are excited and "FIRED UP" for the 2024-2025 academic year at THE IGNITE Middle School!
Greetings Ignite Family! We are excited for another amazing week ahead. Parents, please take some time to complete the Parent Needs Assessment for Counseling Services you can find below. This survey will assist us in planning and developing quality programs that best meet the needs of your scholar and family. Your input is valuable and your responses are anonymous.
Thank you to all the families who showed up to our first PTSA meeting! We were able to share exciting news about upcoming events and enjoy a variety of homemade salsa. We had a great time. We solidified a few positions for SBDM but have a few openings if anyone is interested. SBDM is the Site Based Decision Making Committee that assist in making decisions that impact the entire campus. We have our president and scribe but we are still in need of a business owner and vice president. All parents are welcome, a role is not required to participate. If you are interested in joining, please send Dr. Rhodes an email @ Lrhodes@dallasisd.org. The committee meets 4 times per year. Your voice matters!
We have planned some fun activities for our scholars. Parents, please complete the volunteer document below if you are interested in chaperoning any campus based activity. Our first dance will be October 24th from 4pm - 6pm. Details can be found below.
Remember Mondays and Thursdays are professional (button down, tie, and blazer) dress days. Families, please help us ensure scholars are in dress code. School starts at 8:35 sharp and dismisses at 3:55pm.
As we embark on this journey towards academic success, it is important that we are all on the same page and are delivering the same message to our scholars. We are one family, with one goal. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are honored to be a part of their academic journey and look forward to working together to help them achieve their fullest potential. Together, we will help our scholars discover their superpowers.
We Are IGNITE!
ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the unique voices and experiences of and experiences of Hispanic/Latino Americans and recognize their history, journeys, and achievements. Through these celebrations, we can all help to inspire younger generations celebrate their culture and bring communities together.
Attendance
Parents, please be advised that picking students up before the end of the school day can result in students having to make up time. Students must be present for the full day as much as possible to avoid being flagged for attendance for credit. Too many absences can lead to your scholar being retained or having to spend Saturdays and after school hours to make up their time. We are here to support however we can but, we need our scholars here on time and through the end of the day.
