Husky Howler 8/16/24 (Guardians)
We are the PACK!
Smiley Thoughts
PACK Guardians,
It was a great first three days at Hubbard! The PACK was all together again and couldn't wait to get started. This year you may hear us use the language "It starts with YOU!" We want to partner with you for your child's education. You can flip that saying right back at us as well. It starts with you as a parent, my teachers, administration, paras, EVERYONE is involved in making Husky students successful. It starts at home and continues into Hubbard. Please partner with us to make your student succeed!
PTA - Have you joined PTA yet? Stop what you are doing, go to the New PTA website, and join asap! We are going to start offering some new incentives for joining PTA that will make your student very happy, so make sure you join today!
Cross Country - The school year is upon us and Cross Country is beginning right NOW!
If you are planning on running XC this year, here are the things we need you to do the following ASAP:
- You need a signed physical turned into the Athletic Coordinators (Girls: Coach McMichael; Boys Coach Morrow) or to me Coach Adams.
- You need all Rankone online forms filled out by a parent or guardian.
- You need to download the SportsYou app or go to the website and signup for the XC Team with code: P5BC6VRD
Practices are Monday - Thursdays starting at 6:45a.m. and drop off is on Husky Lane by the black gate with the concrete steps. Every athlete needs to come dressed to run with clothes to change into for school. Athletes also need to bring a full water bottle.
-------------------------------------------------------------REPEATS--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hubbard Guardian Handbook - Please review this document so you are informed of our specific policies including dress code, A/B day schedule, and Bell Schedule. All of these are also located on the Hubbard Website under "documents." Here are a few changes from last year:
- 8th grade recognition requirements (p.8-9) - In order to hold students to the highest standards for their academics and behaviors, we have adjusted our 8th grade recognition requirements. Please review these with your 8th grader.
- Chromebooks (p.15) - There are MANY reasons why we chose to change our Chromebook policy including cost of damages, cost of lost chargers, time dealing with those issues, persistent misusage outside of school hours, lack of access on testing days, etc. but I wanted you to know we will not be issuing Chromebooks to each individual student. Instead, they will be kept within the classrooms for student access. We will be communicating a method for students to check them out through the media center if they are needed for instructional purposes outside of school hours.
- Drop off/pickup (p.16-17) - The complete Hubbard MS construction, including competition football field/track and parking lots, will not be finalized until Summer of 2025. Currently, ALL students will enter through the front doors, including bus riders. Please make sure you understand the pick up/drop off procedures and traffic flow. Yes, it is going to take more time the first week, but everyone will adjust quickly! This also includes where students will report in the morning.
- Cafeteria seating - (p.16) - Yes, students need social time with their friends, but the campus needs time to create structure and ensure our procedures are being followed. At the beginning of the year the students will have assigned seats, but that is loosened up soon and they will have "free seating" if systems are being followed.
- Fundraising - (p.21) - To make sure we are being clear and up front regarding campus fundraising, there is information on page 21.
School Supplies - Please make sure your student is prepared by having purchased their school supplies in accordance with their grade level. If you are in need of financial assistance, please reach out directly to the campus.

We were sad to see our band directors leave, but we are happy to have such awesome NEW PACKmates!
