Hello families,

I wanted to take a second to introduce myself. My name is Larysa Gilbert and I work for Syntero. This is my 10th school year in the district and my 7th school year at Tremont. Syntero has a partnership with Upper Arlington City Schools, through funding from the ADAMH board, to provide School-Based Mental Health Prevention Services, free of charge, to students. Prevention services are strategic skill-building opportunities intended to increase skills and decrease risk through a variety of different methods such as small groups, individual sessions with linkage to higher level of care as needed, and classroom lessons. I work closely with school counselors and staff to support the work they are already doing with social emotional learning. Here is a handout that explains a little bit more about what are prevention services. What is the Tremont PTO?

The Tremont PTO is a group of parent volunteers who help plan and fund field trips, annual social events, fundraisers, enrichment programs and learning activities for our students and staff. The PTO supports many educational opportunities like teacher grants and service learning projects that enhance the day-to-day experience for all students and staff at Tremont.

What is a PTO supporter?

We encourage every Tremont family to become a PTO supporter. This one time fee ($25 per family) will help PTO off-set some of the expense in providing such experiences throughout the year. We wanted to share a link to the video message from Superintendent Bob Hunt played during our open house event. Captions can be displayed by clicking on the closed captioning (CC) box. The captions can also be translated into a language of your choice by clicking on settings, selecting "subtitles" and then "auto-translate."

The UACS Technology department provides 2 ways for caregivers to manage screen time, review web history, manage apps and internet access after school hours. The typical built-in Apple ScreenTime and Parental controls do not work because the district manages iPads for school use at a district level - the typical consumer level settings are not available. Caregivers can review web activity and disable internet access through the Lightspeed Relay Parent Portal. Additionally, caregivers can control app access and set rules through the JAMF Parent app. Questions may be directed to FamilyTechHelp@uaschools.org.
