Carpool Request from Cary PD
Carpool Families,
I received a phone call from the Cary Police Department this week asking me to send out a reminder because they received complaints from our neighbors. Please make sure when lining up for carpool that you are NOT blocking a driveway while waiting. Neighbors need to have access to their driveways. If a car needs to get in or out of their driveway you are required to move immediately so they have access.
Separately we also received concerns about being stopped on Maynard. To line up please go down to Arrundale so that traffic can safely flow on Maynard.
Thanks as we work to ensure that all of our neighbors can come and go safely as they need to throughout the morning and afternoon carpool.

Raise Craze Fall Fundraiser: Donate By October 4
**Donation Matching** – This Weekend Only!
An extremely kind and generous BES community member will match donations we receive for our Raise Craze Fundraiser between Friday 9/27 and Sunday 9/29... Up to $1,000!
This is an opportunity to double your impact for our students and school, so donate today!
Remember, our fundraiser ends next Friday, October 4. If every family contributes the suggested $30 donation (or beyond!), we can provide grants for every teacher and fully fund our Specials classrooms!
Extra Recess for Everyone
Through your kindness and donations, our Bulldogs have:
- Raised over $6,500 for our school!
- Logged over 615 Acts of Kindness!
- Earned an extra recess for the entire school!
Let's help them get to 750 AOKs... So they'll earn the opportunity to PIE their teachers in the face! (Trust us, the kids LOVE this one.)
Other Ways to Make an Impact
- Donations: We are collecting donations to Note in the Pocket and Read and Feed. Drop your new or gently used clothes and books in the collection bin outside the school office or at the Saturday 9/28 Grounds Day.
- 10/3 On-site visit: Register here to join us for a visit to the Glade Adult Day Center. Volunteer with your student(s) to spend 1 hour playing games and doing activities with residents on a Teacher Workday (October 3).
- Register for Raise Craze: It's not too late to sign up, request donations from friends and family, and log your AOKs for kindness credit – all through our online portal!
Spirit Wear on Sale Through October 11
Our Spirit Wear Sale runs September 30 – October 11. The sale is for 2 weeks only, and we take pre-orders only – so don't miss it! Remember to include parents, siblings, and other Bulldog supporters. Shirts come in both kid and adult sizes.
Forms will be sent home in Tuesday folders, or order online at https://briarcliff24.itemorder.com/shop/home/.
Walk, Roll, and Bike to School on October 9
The PTA invites all students, families, and staff to walk (or roll or bike!) to school together on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Wear your Red for Ed(ucation) in solidarity to support each other and our public schools!
- Families who don’t usually walk: Meet outside Duck Donuts (map)! Park in the empty lot along the tree line, not near the businesses, by 8:10am. The route is just under 1/2 mile (about a 12-minute walk) and is stroller and wheelchair accessible, though there are hills and a speed bump.
- Families who usually walk: Walk your normal route and meet up with the group along the way!
- Staff: Meet the group at the corner of Cheswick and Pond (map) by 8:30am.

Book Fair: 10/17 – 10/25
Our Fall Book Fair will be held 10/17-10/25. We are excited for this opportunity to increase the love of reading in our school!
- Shop online today: The online fair has already started, so you can peruse the fair or make a purchase now. The school gets as much credit for online purchases as in-person ones!
- Grown-up volunteers needed: We need adult volunteers to make this happen! Volunteers get 20% off your purchase. Sign up for a timeslot (or a few!) here!
Fall Fest: Friday 10/25
Everyone's favorite fall family event will be on Friday, October 25, from 5-7:30pm at the school.
Get your Candy CARavan ideas ready, and watch for the sign-up link soon!
Shop the Spirit Booth on Wednesday Mornings
Our PTA Spirit Booth is open most Wednesday before school, from 8:45-9:15am in the main hallway.
Students can bring small bills and coins to buy school supplies and trinkets, ranging from $0.25 to $1.50. Fifth grade students work at the booth as a fun learning experience, and all proceeds come directly back to our school!
Custodian Appreciation Day
No job is too big or too small for our kind and fearless custodian, Mr. Cortez! Send him a note or token of thanks on Custodian Appreciation Day – Wednesday, October 2!
Thank You from Ms. Chambers!
The Quiet Corner in our assistant principal's office is complete! Ms. Chambers would like to personally thank everyone who saw the request on social media and ordered everything on her wishlist.
