Fierce Conversations
for School Administrators
Course Information
Learners will engage in a variety of instructional methods (group processing, modeling, lecture, group presentations, coaching) to accomplish these learning goals.
The learner will:
- Utilize the transformational ideas and seven principles that define a Fierce Conversation in group and real-life situations.
- Identify key conversations that will support individual professional development and the development of the organization.
- Prepare and implement a team conversation. coaching conversation, a delegation conversation, and confrontation conversation.
- Develop and submit a personal communication plan.
This course has been approved by the Iowa Department of Education for renewal of an Iowa Evaluator Approval License.
This class is intended for school administrators.
Class Structure & Dates
This class will be held via Zoom from 8:30am-3:30pm on the following dates. Participants must attend all four dates.
- February 20th, 2024
- March 8th, 2024
- March 21st, 2024
- April 3rd, 2024
Implementation Support
The Instructors of Record of this class will provide participants with the option to receive feedback on conversation preparation models.

There is a $125 fee for all participants due to the materials cost.
TO RECEIVE EVALUATOR APPROVAL RENEWAL CREDIT: Participants interested in receiving Evaluator Approval Renewal Credit need to register for "Licensure Renewal" credit type (not Participant Only) and pay the credit fee of $35. Participants then submit their AEA transcript to the BOEE. The BOEE will recognize the course as an approved Evaluator Approval Renewal course.
