As we charge into the final three weeks of the traditional school year at Crossroads, Uvalde CISD Childcare Center, and our Discipline Program, we are able to pause briefly to celebrate the success of our two newest graduates: Chentel Galvan & Mariah Gomez. In her speech about working with Chentel, mentor teacher Barbie Hoffman said "This is what Crossroads Academy does... No matter how long it takes!" Mentor Teacher Ms. Brandee Jones noted, "Mariah came here and got to take her time, and just be a kid." Both of these students have made their marks in the collective heart of our school, and the pathways they have walked have taught our professional team new lessons in what is possible through outreach and intervention mixed with equal parts love and care. While every moment of every school day is not as beautiful as this graduation celebration, they are all important to the lives of our students, their families, and our community, and our team feels blessed at the opportunities we have to help and support in all the ways that we do.
