Yellow Jacket Family News
Volume 2, March 24, 2025
Greetings Yellow Jacket Families!!! 📣
"With just three weeks until Spring Break, what’s your family’s go-to way to shake off the winter blues—are you team *cozy movie nights* 🍿 or team *outdoor weekend adventures* 🌟?"
For my family, it depends on the business of the week 😁
As the quarter comes to a close, students need to focus on getting all assignments in by Friday, March 27, 2025. We want to be clear: Our school prioritizes conflict resolution through mediation, and we actively involve families in this process. However, when students reject these opportunities and instead resort to violence, the consequences will be firm and reflect their refusal to cooperate.
We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing the importance of respect, accountability, and making positive choices. If your child needs support in managing conflicts, please encourage them to seek help from our counseling team or administrators.
This week an EVP bootcamp will be on Monday, the seniors will also have their panorama picture on Tuesday, March 25th, and we will host a number of entrepreneurs on Tuesday for our first "Creative Entrepreneur Expo" during second period on Tuesday, March 25th.
We will continue to highlight our women of the day. There are also many activities planned.
- The daily announcement of the Phenomenal Woman of the Day until March 28, 2025.
- Wellness Wednesday Women's History Month Question(s) of the Day. The first student to correctly answer the Wellness Wednesday Women's History Month Question(s) of the Day will win a prize.
- The Social Studies Department in partnership with the CTE-Culinary Arts students will celebrate the female faculty/staff with a Women's History Month Tasting in the CTE-Cafe during their lunch period on Thursday, March 27, 2025
- Students will bring their Phenomenal Woman to the Media Center, during their lunch, for a photo session on Wednesday, March 26, 2025
- Movie Night to honor women, in the cafeteria, after-school, from 2:45 to 5:00 pm, March 27, 2025
- Female JROTC cadets will perform during all three lunches in the cafeteria on Wednesday, March 26, 2025
We will no longer have individualized water bottles for students; we have water coolers in multiple locations in the building, and students need to bring their own water bottles to fill from the cooler.

Cell Phone/Mobile Device Request 🤳📲
While mobile phones continue to be useful tools in education, they have also become a harmful distraction for many teenage learners during the school day. We are asking all parents to help by exploring ways of implementing parental controls on student mobile devices during school hours. We also ask that you have regular conversations with your children about responsible usage of mobile devices and social media. We will be having ongoing conversations with the community about this throughout the year to promote a safe and healthy learning environment for all.
Please note that TEACHERS ARE PERMITTED TO HAVE NO CELL PHONE POLICIES IN THEIR CLASSROOMS, and students must adhere to these classroom rules.

Change in After School Activity Pick UP
To ensure a smoother and safer pick up process, we are making a small change to the after-school activity student pick-up procedure. After-school activity pick-up will take place at Door #16 by the gym. This adjustment allows us to manage the flow of traffic better and ensure all students are dismissed in an organized and timely manner. Door #16 is on the east side of the building near the football field.
