Singer's Holiday Giving Program: Now through December 9th
Every year the Flora Singer Community rallies in a BIG way to help meet the holiday needs and wishes of all our students. It's one part of what makes our Singer community such a special place to be.
Working with our wonderful school counselors, we made a plan for this year that more readily meets the needs of our families - both logistically and practically. We anticipate supporting 80 children this season and appreciate any and all help you can provide.
Our goal this year is to provide the following items for each child:
- A book
- A hat and gloves
- A Target gift card to allow parents/caregivers to choose a gift they know their child will like/need/enjoy
- And one game or activity per family
We also welcome any small "stocking stuffer" items like fidgets, journals, crayons, fun pens etc.!
Please have all items dropped off or delivered no later than December 9th. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity!
Drop off locations:
- 1915 Brisbane Street
- 1604 Imperial Drive
- 9825 Hollow Glen
Way to Help #1: Purchase Target gift card(s) in $25 denomination
These should be physical cards, please!
Our goal is to collect at least 80 gift cards in order to meet the needs of all the children we need to serve. Any extra gift cards will be saved by the counselors to use as needed when a family is in crisis or otherwise needs urgent assistance.
Way to Help #2: Purchase items from the Flora Singer wishlist (link below)
Target is currently running a Buy 2 Get 1 Free on books and 30% outwear like hats and gloves!
Way to Help #3: Purchase items from any store and drop off at one of the locations above
Items to look for include hats, gloves, games, books (ages Baby through Teenagers) or small items to gift.
Way to Help #4: Contribute Gently Used Coats
This one isn't for gifting but we continue to collect gently used coats for all student sizes. You can leave coat donations in the bin in the school's front hallway or at any of the homes listed below.
December Dine-Out: Hollywood East Cafe!
Dine-outs are a delicious way to support the PTA. Each month, we host "Dine Out" events in partnership with local businesses as a way to get out and have fun with other Singer families while supporting the PTA at the same time.
Join us December 6th, 7th, or 8th for our next dine-out at Hollywood East Cafe in Wheaton!
Parents' Night Out: Save the Date!
Join us for a Parents' Night Out at Third Hill Brewing Company in Silver Spring! Details to follow, but we're looking forward to some time for parents to socialize and enjoy music from local band Booze Island!
Please RSVP so we can estimate headcount!
