Re-Enrollment in January
All Zion families were emailed an electronic document to state your intentions for the 2025-2026 school year. Our re-enrollment process is automatic, but we are asking each family to sign the document by January 31 to help us plan for the new admissions season February 1. We do anticipate a large number of applicants with many being on a waiting list since our school is at campus capacity. Please note that per school board policy, students who withdraw from Zion after January 31 will be charged a $500 withdrawal fee, and the fee increases to $1000 June 1.
New Applications
Current Zion families who want to enroll siblings for the upcoming year will be able to submit early applications starting Monday, January 27. Incoming kindergarten - 8th grade students will be tested by administration before admission.
5-8th Grade Parents,
Be sure to check your inbox for an important email that Coach Knippa sent you this week concerning spring sports sign-ups. Let her know by Monday, January 13, if your child plans to participate in soccer and/or track and field. Students are allowed to join both if they don't want to have to choose between the two. Practices will start mid to late February after school and the seasons end in April.
Contact Coach Knippa if you have any questions: carla.knippa@zionwalburg.org
Author's Visit at Zion
We are excited to welcome author Kris Tarantino to our campus on January 30. She will meet with students in preschool through 5th grade. She will share her book Valenslime, based on 1 Corinthians 13, and share about the publishing process. Please see the flyer and visit this website https://thetwig.com/school-author-visits to order a copy for your child.
Bible Reading Challenge
Have you ever closed your Bible and thought “what did I just read?” Starting January 12, we will partner with The Bible Recap to read through the Old Testament. The Bible Recap is a chronological reading plan with a daily podcast that highlights and summarizes the Bible in an easy-to-understand way. It will not only help you read scripture but help you love reading it. Click the button below for the reading plan or paper copies are available in the Lobby and Narthex.
Student Injury or Illness Policy Reminder
Please review our student illness policy. This information can be found on page 36 of the handbook. Contact the school office if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you!
Student Injury or Illness
In the event a student is injured during the school day, parents/guardians will be notified as soon as
possible. If a student has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or more, or displays symptoms of illness,
parents/guardians will be called. Students must be free from fever and symptoms for at least 24 hours
before returning to school.
When a student’s absence for personal illness exceeds four consecutive days, a statement from a
physician or health clinic verifying the illness or condition should be provided to the student’s homeroom
teacher.
If the student has established a pattern of absences, Zion may also require a physician’s or clinic’s
statement of illness or condition after a single day’s absence as a condition of classifying the absence as
one for which there are extenuating circumstances.
