Google Classroom
PCSVA will utilize the Google Classroom platform as our learning management system. Each grade level will follow a set schedule linked and provided by your child’s classroom teacher. Grades 6-12 will follow the bell schedule provided during Open House. Student instruction will be provided in asynchronous (independent) and synchronous (live with teacher) formats. Attendance will be recorded daily and within each period. Cameras are expected to be on so that students are visible during instruction.

Person County Schools utilizes Online School Payments (OSP) for payment of ALL school-related fees. School Related Fees in Online School Payment (OSP) include Technology Use, Laptop Insurance, Laptop Damage and Repairs, Library Fees, Parking, Club/Organization Dues, etc.
Please be sure to click "Academy" in the menu then "PCSVA Virtual Academy". Your child DOES NOT attend PHS so please do not pay fees through "Person High".

Registration is first come - first serve due to limited seating.
Construction and Access to PCSVA (3rd floor)
A lot has changed over the summer in regard to the facilities at Person High School. Much work has been completed, but much is still underway. We thank you for your patience as the construction takes place!
The main entrance of the building is not available for access to the building. Instead, visitors are asked to park in the top part of the gym-side lot, walk down the sidewalk toward the building that is lined with fence and labeled “School Entrance”. At the end of the walkway, there are doors that are serving as the entrance to PHS while the front is not accessible. PCSVA students and families will enter through the Visitors Door at the top of the breezeway to enter near the Media Center.
Parent Drop Off & Pick Up and Student Parking
For the 2024-2025 school year, students must be dropped off in front of the gymnasium and not any other building location, such as the front of the school or T-wing lot. Carline is indicated on the map below with yellow arrows. Due to construction, students will enter the building at the entrance indicated by the pink star on the map below.
Student drivers will enter and exit the student parking lot by using the Ridge Road entrance shown in red arrows on the map below.
Visitors to the building will need to park in the upper part of the gym-side lot and enter the building by the media center, indicated by the green star on the map below.
PCSVA students and families will enter through the Visitor Door at the top of the breezeway to enter near the Media Center.
PCS Gazette
Please review the PCS Gazette for district policies and procedures related to communication, inclement weather, student promotion and accountability, parent and student rights, non-discrimination rights, volunteering, the PCS Code of Conduct, dress code, release of student information, administering medication, bus safety rules and regulations, child nutrition, and more!
School Calendars
2024-2025 Calendar (English)
2024-2025 Calendar (Spanish)
Piedmont Community College Calendar
We align with the traditional school calendar with PCS; the first day for students is Tuesday, August 27, 2024. PCSVA utilizes the Google Workspace platform where teachers will instruct using both Google Meet and Google Classroom. Students enrolled in grades 9-12 also participate in courses through NC Schools of Science and Math. These courses begin on Tuesday, August 27 and courses for students who are enrolled at PCC will begin on Thursday, August 15, 2024. PCSVA courses are asynchronous on Wednesdays.
Our program is designed to focus on effectively providing a high-quality, virtual learning environment for all students and we ask that families commit to being enrolled for the entire school year. Student engagement is critical in the virtual learning environment; therefore, students will be expected to keep their cameras on during synchronous (live) instruction with their teachers and peers. Attendance will be taken based on this policy. There will also be opportunities daily for students to work asynchronously and having parent/family support is strongly encouraged.
While we are able to instruct our students virtually, all district and state-mandated assessments will need to be conducted in person onsite at our location. Assessment schedules and detailed instructions will be provided in advance of each district and state-mandated assessment for 6-12 students.
