School will operate on an Early Dismissal Schedule (1:15 PM Dismissal) Monday, October 14 for a Staff Inservice day.

NJHS Parent Information Meeting
NJHS Advisers invite 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, parents and guardians to attend an optional informational meeting on Wednesday, October 9 at 6:30 in the UTMS Cafeteria. Discussion will include the acceptance process and criteria. CLICK HERE for more information.
If you can not attend please visit the Middle School website and select Clubs/Activities and then select NJHS. At the bottom of the NJHS site is an informational sheet for parents/guardians and an informational sheet for students that will hopefully answer any questions.

6th Grade Halloween Dance
The sixth grade dance will be held this Friday, October 10 from 6:30-8:00. Venmo @UTSD-PTO by October 10th with student name and event in Venmo or pay at the door. CLICK HERE for all the details and CLICK HERE if you would like to sign up to volunteer.

Other Info
The PTO would like to thank all Room Coordinators, Parents, and Staff that were able to attend this month's meeting. Together, we were able to approve SEVEN different Teacher Grants as well as plan some incredible events for our kids. 10/19 - PS/ES Halloween Fun and Skate Night **Last 8th Grade Fundraiser for their Graduation Fund** Volunteers are welcome and encouraged at all events. Fall Sports:
The UTMS 2023-2024 Fall Sports Season kicks off this week. Practices are held Monday-Thursday right after school until 4:25 PM on any non-game day. If any practice is cancelled due to weather or other situation all parents will be notified. Students who do not have a ride by 4:30 will be sent home on the late bus.

Student Dress:
General Reminders:
No students are allowed to wear the following:
- Flip Flops
- Pajama Pants
- No tops that expose the midriff (belly) or back
- Shirts should not be worn that make reference to sex, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, violence or profanity.
- Shorts should be of appropriate length
- Hats or Hoods
Student Cell Phones & Wireless Earbuds:
In the event that a student brings a cell phone or earbuds into school, the following must be strictly adhered to:
1. All cell phones and wireless earbuds must be kept in the student’s book bag/locker during the normal school day.
2. All cell phones and wireless earbuds must be turned off during the normal school day.
3. No pictures are to be taken by any camera phone at any time.
4. No camera phones are to be used in any locker room or rest room at any time.
Any student found using a cell phone and wireless earbuds or any phone that is heard ringing during the normal school day will be subject to the following consequences:
- 1st Offense: Parent notification, cell phone or and wireless earbuds confiscated and returned to student at the end of the day.
- 2nd Offense: Parent notification, administrative detention issued, cell phone or and wireless earbuds confiscated and returned to a parent or guardian.
- 3rd Offense: Parent notification, suspension issued, cell phone or and wireless earbuds confiscated and returned to a parent or guardian.
