FULLER FAMILY NEWS
From the Principal's Desk
Hello Fuller Families!
I hope this message finds you well and that your family had a wonderful weekend! At Fuller Elementary, we are committed to building a warm, supportive, and healthy environment for all our students. This week, I want to take a moment to encourage us all to make healthier choices, not just in academics and behavior, but in what we consume. While sodas and sugary drinks aren’t banned from campus, we strongly recommend opting for healthier alternatives like water, flavored water, or 100% fruit juices. These small steps can make a big difference in creating a healthier atmosphere for our kids, and we’re grateful for your support in making Fuller a place where wellness thrives.
We also have some exciting events coming up, and we can’t wait to share them with you:
- **8th**: PTO Rough Riders Night – Bring the whole family for an evening of fun!
- **9th - 13th**: Arts in Education Week – Let’s celebrate creativity and the arts all week long, with exciting activities in music, art, and drama.
- **10th**: PTO Meeting and WATCH D.O.G.S. Kickoff – We invite all families to join us for our PTO meeting, where we will officially kick off the WATCH D.O.G.S. program. Dads and father figures, this is a great chance to get involved! As a thank you, we’ll be offering **free pizza** for all WATCH D.O.G.S. and their students who attend. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with our school community.
- **11th**: Happy Birthday to Sarah Beck!
- **11th**: School Picture Day – Send your student to school with their best smile!
- **12th**: National Hug and High 5 Day – Let’s fill the school with kindness through hugs and high-fives!
- **12th**: Grandparent’s Lunch – We are so excited to welcome grandparents to join their grandchildren for a special lunch. Please note that visitors will not be served from the cafeteria, but feel free to bring in a meal from outside to enjoy together. While you're here, don’t forget to stop by the **Book Fair**! If you plan to visit the Book Fair, just let your teacher know when you’re leaving the cafeteria.
Thank you for being an essential part of the Fuller Elementary family. We appreciate your involvement and look forward to sharing a great week with you!

Attendance
Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.
A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.
In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
