ILLNESS

Here is a helpful guide for Reasons to keep your child home.

• Children with a temperature of 100.4 degrees F or higher should stay at home until there is no fever for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
• Any child who has vomited twice in 24 hours should stay home. Your child may return to school after 24 hours of no vomiting or fever.

In the event of an absence, please use our Online Absence Excuse Form, also found on the homepage of our school website.

If your child needs to take medication at school, you must drop the medication off at the school office with an Authorization Form. Please do not send your child in to school with the medication.

CARPOOL

As a reminder, Elementary School afternoon carpool begins at 3:00pm, and Middle School afternoon carpool begins at 3:15pm.

BOTH schools end carpool at 3:30pm. Please be on time to pick up your child.

🚗During Carpool, please stay on River Green Parkway and/or Corporate Way (Middle School) ONLY Please remain in your lane and do not drive through other business parking lots when exiting/entering.

STUDENT CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Once morning carpool has ended at both schools, a parent/guardian MUST park, enter the school, and sign the student in at the front desk.

Student check-out ends at 2:00pm. After this time, parents/guardians must enter the carpool line. Late check-outs interfere with dismissal safety. Thank you for your understanding.

PARENTVUE

Have you logged into your ParentVue account? Access student grades, attendance records, and information through the portal or the app.

View your child's assessment scores on ParentVue!

Thank you parents and guardians for your help in placing timely orders for your child's meals at NLAE.

Remember, Free/Reduced Lunch students should still place meal orders with our vendor to ensure a meal is sent for your child.

Please make sure to check your MyPaymentsPlus account for fees and balances that need your attention! All library, field trip, and lunch balances can be viewed under your account.

🚩🚩🚩Remember, the last day to charge meals to your account is May 14, 2025. You MUST have enough funds in your account to cover lunch in order to purchase.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5 - 9, 2025.

iReady End of Year Diagnostic

NLAE Kindergarten through 8th grade students will be taking the Universal iReady Screener Diagnostic from April 28th through May 5th.

iReady Diagnostics assess strengths and areas for growth in Reading and Mathematics. This will be the third and final Diagnostics Assessment in iReady.

The end of year reports will be available in ParentVue at the end of the school year.

End of Year District Assessments

The Summative District Assessments will be administered May 5th - 9th for 3rd through 5th grade, and May 12th - 19th for Middle School Students.

The Summative District Assessments monitor student progress in the mastery of the AKS.

On Assessment days, please make sure that your child

• Gets plenty of rest
• Eats a healthy breakfast
• Arrives to school on time

Field Day 2025 will be held at NLAE Elementary School on May 15, 2025.

Please read the information below carefully, and contact the school for any questions.

Location: New Life Academy of Excellence Main Campus (4725 River Green Parkway)

Date: May 15, 2025 [Thursday]

All students (K-8th) will celebrate together at the Main Campus for Field Day

• For the safety of our students, staff, and volunteers, only adults who have registered to volunteer are able to attend Field Day.
• There is no parking on the school grounds on May 15th.
  • All parking will be located across the street at the vacant parking lot located at 4680 River Green Parkway. (Old NLAE training center)
  • Please do not park at any location on River Green Parkway, as you will be subject to their towing policy.
  • New Life Academy of Excellence will not be held liable for towed vehicles on non-NLAE property.
  • Look for the police officers and signs for directions.
• Carpool: The morning and afternoon carpool will run as normal in the rear of the building.
  • Middle School: Please drop-off and pick-up Middle School Students at the Elementary School campus
• Tardy Drop-Off:
  • Tardy drop-off will end at 8:20 am.
  • After 8:20 am, you must park across the street in the lot referenced above and walk your child(ren) over to the school front office.
• Deliveries (Lunch and Forgotten Items): Please make sure to pack your child's lunch/snack if they do not eat school lunch.
  • Those dropping off items will need to park at across the street and walk to the school office.
  • Also, if applicable, make sure they have their concession stand money secured in an envelope or ziploc bag upon arriving at school. We ask that if there is a birthday celebration/class party and you have items, please drop those items off in the rear during carpool in the holding spot closest to the back ramp, as you will not be able to access the front desk until 8:20 am.
• Early Check-Out: Early Check-Out will end at 2:00 PM, promptly.
  • You must park across the street and walk to the school front office to get your child.
  • Please make sure to have your photo id with you.
• Carpool Line Up (Afternoon): Please do not begin arriving until 2:00 pm.
  • All cars that come to carpool line up before 2:00pm will be turned away.
  • Carpool will begin at 3:00pm and end at 3:30pm. Students must be picked up by 3:30pm, no exceptions.
• Field Day Shirts: Make sure your child wears their shirt on the 15th!
• Volunteers should wear a shirt in the color of their child's grade level.
• Students who did not purchase a Field Day T-Shirt should wear a shirt in their grade level color.

VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
Each teacher will be allowed four volunteers per class. Sign-ups are first come, first serve.
ALL Volunteers must have a Background check on file or turned in by May 9, 2025.

Caps/Gowns, Instructions, and Tickets will be ready for distribution in the coming weeks.

Do you have/know a former NLAE student who is graduating High School this year?

Please forward this information to any families of graduating former students.

• The student must register to attend the walk
• No Drop-offs
• As this is a regular school day, former students will not be able to stay on campus after the walk has concluded. Former students will have an opportunity to visit former Middle School teachers later during the day at a specified time, to be announced the morning of the walk.
• Please wear your cap and gown to represent your current school!
