Greetings Students and Families
Wow! I can't believe September is already over. So much amazing learning happened this month and we are very proud of each and every Lenox Pioneer. At Lenox, we believe that all scholars can reach high levels of academic and social and emotional success given intentional, responsive, and relevant instruction and support. In order to ensure all students have access to high quality instruction, we are committing to creating and maintaining safe and supportive learning environments centered on the use of morning meeting, language supports, and instruction that matches students strengths and needs. Thank you for partnering with us as we embark on the 22-23 school year!
There are many things happening this month both in school and in our community; be sure to check out all the details below. And, as a reminder, if you ever have questions, suggestions, or wonderings, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's classroom teacher, the office or me. Communication and connection are key to our success!

News & Notes You Need to Know
Fencing and gates have been added to our campus in the last month as an additional safety measure. Gates will remain locked M-F on school days. Families and community members are welcome to access the track and playground on weekends, non-school days, and after 2:25pm on school days (1:50pm on Wednesdays).
Arrival/Dismissal Reminders
- Please remember to use crosswalks both when crossing Rock Creek Blvd and when in the parking lot. We have staffed crossing guards to support both you and your students when crossing before and after school.
- If you are driving to pick your student (s) up, pull all the way forward past the gated entrance to our playground in order to minimize the back up on Rock Creek Blvd.
- Drop off in the bus lane is only available after 7:45am. This area needs to stay clear for busses prior to that time and at dismissal.
Volunteers
If you are interested in volunteering or joining your student at lunch, you must complete the HSD volunteer application including fingerprinting. You can visit
https://volunteerapplication.hsd.k12.or.us/ to begin the process or check on the status of your application.
Lenox Laps Visitors
If you plan to come watch your student(s) run during Lenox Laps, please come to the front office to sign-in and grab a visitor badge. There will be a designated spectator area so you get the best view!
Annual Bulb Planting
We are excited to continue the yearly tradition of planting flower bulbs around the perimeter of the building. Each student can bring a bulb to plant or even a few to share. Farmington Gardens has kindly donated bulbs should your student need one. We are in need of a few more volunteers to help dig the trenches on Wednesday after school. Reach out to Mrs. Keller if you are willing to help!
SERVICES OFFERED FOR TALENTED AND GIFTED (TAG) STUDENTS
Parents are welcome to refer their child for services designed for students identified as talented and gifted. Students who score at or above the 97th percentile on a nationally standardized, norm-referenced test of overall reading or math or on a mental abilities test, and have other confirming evidence that they learn at a rapid rate and advanced level, are identified as TAG students. With parent input, individual plans are made to adjust the rate and level of the student’s instruction to meet his or her specific needs. If you think your child may qualify for TAG services, and want information about the referral and identification process, please contact our school’s TAG Coordinator.
