Principal Message
Hello Seahawks! We wrapped up our Fall MAP testing this week and had our first cultural day activity. Our students went on a berry picking field trip and also showed their natural habitat with artwork.
Thank you to all the families that joined us on Friday for our Open House & Title 1 meeting. If you were not able to attend you can call and arrange a private conference with the teachers.
The school will be closed all next week due to the labor day holiday and our LKSD Annual Fall Conference. School will resume on Monday September 9 and our K-3 students will start working on their AK Reads Dibels Screener. We will also host our first "Sources of Strength" family night on Wednesday September 11.
As always, my door is open and our team welcomes your input. Enjoy your break and I look forward to seeing all of you back to school on the ninth!

Attendance Matters Competition
Our 4th grade are currently in the lead with an overall 98% attendance rate for the month of August! The grade that has the highest attendance rate at the end of the month will get to participate in our monthly Open Gym!
Ms. Mary Myra Tacazon
A huge thank you goes to our 1st/2nd grade Teacher Ms. Mary Tacazon who is doing an excellent job as our new Activity Director. She has been creating our flyers and monthly calendars. She also organized our Attendance Matters competition and designed our Attendance Matters boards,.
Mrs. Keri Cleveland
Our students stay grounded in their culture and traditions and it is largely due to our Yupik Associate Teacher Ms. Keri. She organizes and plans all of our monthly cultural day activities and is also a member of our PBIS committee.
