Please know that our teachers will talk with your students regarding what they need to bring with them daily. For the first day of school students can simply bring a folder, notebook, and writing utensil. Returning students can also bring their charged Chromebook and new students including 6th graders will be issued their Chromebooks during the first few days. Over the past few years our students have been very successful carrying backpacks or bags with their school supplies instead of using lockers. Our teachers work hard to support students by limiting what is expected of students to carry throughout the school day. However, if after the first week of school your child feels like they would rather use a locker, they can request it through their grade level counselor. Please know that the hallways where teams 8B, 8C, and 8D are located do not have lockers.

The tissues, paper towels, and Clorox wipes can be brought with you on Walk About Day and left on the tables in the grade level hallways. Each hallway will have tables labeled with the grade level team indicating where to leave these items.

Yard Signs

On August 7, the SMS PTO will sponsor a night at Sky Zone which is formerly known as Rockin' Jump. It's a great way to get the kids back together and have some fun! As a reminder, Sky Zone does not allow drop-offs; parents need to go inside and stay with their child.

Again this year we have partnered with Yubbler as they make it so easy to get your child's school supplies. Also, a portion of the proceeds are donated back to SMS which helps us in our goal of continually looking for ways to assist the school. Click on THIS LINK to shop.

The WSD plans to host the 14th Annual Back to School Fair for District families on Saturday, August 10, from 8-11 a.m. at Liberty High School. The event is intended to get school supplies in the hands of WSD students who need them the most.

The event is free for District families and will feature dozens of vendors, free school supplies, games and fun activities for children. At last year's event, we distributed over $10,000 worth of school supplies to WSD students. In addition, MOChip will be on hand to provide free child identification kits.

While the event is free, families are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Operation Food Search, which serves local families in need. For more information, visit the WSD website:https://bit.ly/WSDBTSFair24.
