Kim Weathers has been sending her kids to St. Rita since her youngest was only 6 months old. Her children began in the parish’s former daycare program, and she then enrolled them in St. Rita School.

For almost 10 years now, Ms. Weathers has been an active member of the school community. She currently is serving in her 4th year on the school board, and has volunteered in several other school events such as the Fall Festival, Taste of St. Rita, and Field Day, to name a few. Also, Ms. Weathers has led the efforts for establishing the school’s Diversity committee. There will be more information coming in a future edition of the Mustang Express about the school Diversity committee.

For now, we want to say thank you to Ms. Weathers for all she has contributed to our school over the years. We appreciate all that you do, Ms. Weathers!

We are offering a Lector training for 5th-8th graders this Wednesday, Sept. 25. This will be from 3:15-3:45. Any student that would like to read the First Reading at our Thursday Masses will be required to take this training. Mr. Kevin Swearingen has volunteered to train our students. Any interested students need to sign up with their homeroom teacher.

Archery parent meeting will be on September 25 at 6 pm in the gym. This is for anyone in grades 4-8. If you cannot make it, please contact Iryt Troutman at iryt.troutman@gmail.com or text 502-442-3242.

Please remember to check your child's Friday Folder over the weekend and return it the following Monday!

Papa John's Bookmark program encourage students to read and parents to build habits of reading. This program encourages students and parents to keep track of the number of books being read throughout the school year so that, in turn, the students is rewarded with a FREE small pizza for their effort.

How to participate:

1. Read 6 books and write the title of the books on the back of the Bookmark provided by Papa John's.
2. When 6 books have been read and the title of the book is written in on the back of the bookmark, the teacher will need to verify and sign in the space provided.

How does the new program work?

Our purpose remains the same: to help schools get what they need. The main difference is that instead of clipping, checking expiration dates, bundling and submitting, Box Tops will be earned through the new mobile app by scanning receipts within 14 days of purchase.

School supporters will earn 10 cents for each Box Tops products purchased plus extra earnings for any Bonus Box Tops offers. Simply buy any Box Tops product at any retailer and scan your receipt in the app to earn. The app will automatically add Box Tops to your school's earnings online, giving you visibility into your school's progress in real time.

It is extremely important that all parents/guardians access the ParentPlus Portal. The ParentPlus Portal will be used by you to monitor your child's grades, attendance, assignments, discipline, etc. https://www.plusportals.com/stritacs

Any person that works with children in the archdiocese (school, church, sports, etc.) must have the one-time Safe Environment Training that is provided by the Archdiocese of Louisville. You can always visit their website for a training schedule. The following is a list of upcoming trainings:

Kim Weathers ha estado enviando a sus hijos a St. Rita desde que su hija menor tenía solo 6 meses. Sus hijos comenzaron en el antiguo programa de guardería de la parroquia, y luego los inscribió en la escuela St. Rita. Durante casi 10 años, la Sra. Weathers ha sido un miembro activo de la comunidad escolar. Actualmente está sirviendo en su cuarto año en la junta escolar y se ha ofrecido como voluntaria en varios otros eventos escolares como el Festival de Otoño, El sabor de St. Rita y el Día de campo, por nombrar algunos. Además, la Sra. Weathers ha liderado los esfuerzos para establecer el comité de Diversidad de la escuela. Estamos ofreciendo un entrenamiento de lector para los grados 5to-8vo este miércoles 25 de Sept. Esto será de 3:15-3:45. El programa de registro de lectura de Papa John anima a los estudiantes a construir habilidades de lectura. Este programa anima a los estudiantes y padres de llevar un registro de la cantidad de libros han sido leidos durante todo el año escolar, a su vez, los estudiantes son recompensados con una pizza pequeña GRATIS por su esfuerzo.

Como participar:

1. Lee 6 libros y escribe el titulo del libro en la parte de atras del separador de libro que ha sido proveido por Papa John.
   
2. Cuando 6 libros han sido leidos y el titulo del libro ha sido escrito en la parte de atraz del separador de libro, la profesora necesitara verificar y firmar en el espacio previsto.
   

¿Cómo funciona el nuevo programa?

Nuestro proposito sigue siendo el mismo: el de ayudar a las escuelas a conseguir lo que necesitan. La gran diferencia es que en vez de cortar, revisar fechas de expiracion, agrupando y enviando, se obtendra Box Tops a traves de la nueva aplicacion movil con el escaneo de recibos dentro de los 14 dias de compra.

Los partidarios de la escuela ganarán 10 centavos por cada producto de Box Tops comprado más ganancias adicionales por cualquier oferta adicional de Box Tops. Simplemente compre cualquier producto Box Tops en cualquier minorista y escanee su recibo en la aplicación para ganar. La aplicación agregará automáticamente Box Tops a las ganancias de su escuela en línea, lo que le dará visibilidad del progreso de su escuela en tiempo real.
