LCSO Asking For Help
Dear Belmont Ridge/ Riverside Families,
We wanted to make you aware of an ongoing concern that has been brought to our attention regarding student behavior after school hours at the Lansdowne Shopping Center. Recently, groups of approximately 40-50 students have been gathering at several businesses in the area, including Harris Teeter, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, and CVS. Unfortunately, there have been multiple reports of disruptive and unsafe behavior, including:
· Loitering and disturbing customers.
· Running through stores and causing disturbances.
· Harassing patrons and creating civil disruptions.
· Running through parking lots, creating unsafe situations for both drivers and pedestrians.
· Instances of theft reported by store management.
We are asking for your help in addressing these concerns. We encourage you to speak with your child about appropriate behavior in public spaces and remind them of the importance of being respectful and responsible members of our community.
Our goal is to ensure that students remain safe and that local businesses can continue serving the community without disruption. Your support in reinforcing these expectations at home can make a significant impact.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact Sergeant William Leonard with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at William.Leonard@loudoun.gov.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our community safe and positive for everyone.
