Emergency Cards - Please complete and submit ASAP
Emergency Procedure Cards: A packet of forms were e-mailed to you in August and one of the forms included the Emergency Card. It is particularly important that you complete the Emergency Card and return it to school ASAP. Our nurse cannot treat your student without a completed form. Additionally, your student cannot attend our field trips without a form being signed and returned. Attached, please find the Emergency form in English and Spanish.
- If you previously submitted the emergency procedure card - Thank you!
Welcome to NBMS where every student is important!

Greetings Parents and Guardians,
I hope this e-mail finds you well. One of the CASD initiatives is based on a book entitled, "Belonging Through A Culture of Dignity.” Last Friday, NBMS surprised and celebrated Ms. Betty Taylor turning 102 years young on September 1. Our purpose was to blend kindness, student engagement, community engagement, leadership, respect, knowledge, cultural awareness, educational enrichment, dignity and belonging.
Thank you to the students who spoke, handed out flowers and assisted with the planning and photography. Thank you, State Representative Dan K. Williams, County Commission Josh Maxwell, Ms. Caldwell (praise dancer) and Ms. Delgado (recited a poem). Thank you parents for your support. The entire student body demonstrated kindness, and respect, so they were rewarded with a popsicle at lunch today.
School Day: The school day starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 2:10 p.m. Parent pick-up is at 2:05 p.m. When picking up students, please produce your driver’s license. If you grant permission for someone other than yourself to pick up your student, please contact the main office by calling 610-383-3745 or e-mail NBATTENDANCE@CASDSCHOOLS.ORG in advance.
Home Football Games: We encourage our CASD families to support our athletic teams. Feel free to review the athletic schedules. Please note that students in grades K - 7 must enter the game with an adult, and be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Kind Regards,
Dr. Eugenia Roberts, Principal

American Heart Association - We need your help! Register today!
Teach your child to save a life - Deadline Extended 9/13
NBMS is partnering with the American Heart Association, and we are dedicated to educating our faculty and staff to healthier, happier students and families. By participating in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge, our school will join a nationwide movement dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our youth. The Program provides resources to students, families, and faculty about how to live an active, heart healthy lifestyle, and to perform Hands Only CPR and detect the warning signs of heart attack and strokes.
American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge is here (ends this week)! Students will learn how to keep their hearts and brains healthy, and students can help raise funds to help kids with a special heart condition just like Finn. We are asking all families to register and complete Finn’s mission to learn Hands-Only CPR. All students who register will receive a free wristband. Plus, the classroom with the most students registered will win our school’s Classroom Challenge and receive popsicles.
Here’s how you can help:
- Register: Click here or download the AHA Schools app.
- Complete Finn’s Mission: Learn the warning signs of stroke and Hands-Only CPR.
Thank you for supporting our school and students in saving lives!

The CASD will continue to use the Bus Status App to notify parents/guardians and schools of delayed buses.

Fundraising for Field Trips Ends September 9, 2024
This year we have educational trips planned that will enhance classroom learning and social skills. We have tried to negotiate the lowest cost possible; however, we are pending a quote with the actual cost for some trips. Please note that there may be additional trips not listed. In the interim, we know that the overall cost may be a concern for some families so our fundraising started August 12 and will end on September 9, 2024.
NBMS is collaborating with Kidz First Fundraising, and they will be managing all money transactions. The money each student raises will remain on their account and if money is left over, the money will be refunded to you at the end of the year. The money raised would pay for your student’s trip; however, if lunch is not included in the trip, students will be responsible to bring a lunch, purchase a lunch onsite or order a free lunch from the NBMS cafeteria.
The flyer is attached (read front and back). To participate, you must register at www.NeedsYourSupport.org. Please add the user ID # 762C3 in the first block that states, support your group. Have fun shopping! Feel free to provide your family, friends, co-workers with the registration website and ID. Students will take home a brochure on Wednesday, August 28. Please do not forget to add the 6% sales tax to non-food items.
Technology Information
Please pay the Chromebook Insurance via RevTrak (payment plan accepted)
Annual Technology Insurance Fee (TIF): Taking care of a computer can be a big responsibility. Safeguards are in place to protect the district’s investment and to reassure parents/guardians and students. Parents/guardians will be responsible to pay an annual $40 technology insurance fee, per student, with a cap of $100 for three or more students. The TIF provides an inexpensive solution for parents/guardians to lessen the financial burden if an accident or theft occurs. Parents or guardians with an unpaid TIF will be liable for the full cost of the repair or replacement of the Chromebook, or cost for repairs resulting from accidental damage. Payment can be made on RevTrak at this link https://coatesvillearea.revtrak.net/casd- technology/ or by cash, check or money order. If you do not have the finances to pay the TIF, you can apply for a fee waiver by clicking this link compass benefits. Once approved, you must go into RevTrak and if eligible, your payment will state zero; however, you must complete the additional information.
