PBIS PARENT CORNER
Supporting students emotionally during testing is crucial to help them feel calm, confident, and ready to perform their best. Here are some actionable tips for parents:
Foster a Positive Environment
Encourage Their Efforts: Remind them that testing is an opportunity to show what they’ve learned, not a measure of their worth.
Normalize Nervousness: Let them know it's okay to feel a bit anxious—everyone does sometimes. Share calming strategies, like deep breathing or visualizing success.
Celebrate Progress: Highlight their hard work and improvement throughout the school year, rather than focusing solely on the test outcome.
Maintain Open Communication
Listen Without Judgment: Create a safe space where your child can share their fears or concerns without feeling pressured.
Talk Through Scenarios: Help them understand what to expect on test day, so they feel prepared. Role-playing situations like time management or answering tough questions can ease worries.
Provide Gentle Reassurance
Be Positive: Encourage them to focus on doing their best, rather than aiming for perfection.
Avoid Comparing: Refrain from comparing your child to peers or siblings—it might unintentionally add pressure.
Stay Supportive: Let them know you'll be proud of them no matter the outcome.
Focus on Wellness
Good Rest: Ensure they have proper sleep before testing days—fatigue can increase stress.
Relaxing Activities: Plan downtime with relaxing activities like drawing, playing outside, or a family board game to help them unwind.
By being a calming and encouraging presence, parents can help their child approach testing with confidence and composure.

CSE FIELD DAY
NEWS FROM MRS. COLE
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Read-a-thon. We were able to raise over $7,000 for the library and our CSE kids logged in more than 23,000 minutes over the course of the read-a-thon. We are so proud of them! Thanks so much for supporting our school! So many students will benefit from these new books!
April is National Poetry Month. In the library, we will be diving into some funny poems by Shel Silverstein, Jack Prelutsky, and more. National Poetry Month reminds us of the integral role of poets and poetry in our culture. Poetry helps us appreciate the world around us and empathize with one another.
TRANSPORTATION NEWS
Dear Parent/Guardian,
I wanted to share with you an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Catoosa County Public Schools’ new School Bus Driver Recruitment Campaign at Cloud Springs Elementary School. The program is an exciting opportunity to involve the community in helping our students find qualified candidates to drive school buses in the (Ringgold/Heritage/Ft. Oglethorpe) area. To participate, please speak with your friends, family, and neighbors to see if they may know of anyone interested in becoming a part of our outstanding team.
If you have any questions, or if you know someone who may be interested in driving a school bus, please contact Mr. Ellis or Mary Lanham by email at eellis@catoosa.k12.ga.us or mlanham@catoosa.k12.ga.us by phone at 706.965.2913.
