Principal's Message
Bronco Family welcome back to school!! The start of the school year has started off super fast and we have no intentions of slowing up. Last Friday night we hosted our annual Meet the Broncos and every student involved in a Fall activity grades 7-12 was recognized. It was so good to see our community all together supporting our young people as we get the year started.
I want to take a minute to talk specifically to seniors and senior parents. This year will fly by and before you know it the first day of school pictures will turn into Christmas pictures and then we will be at WSCC in our cap and gowns ready to walk across the stage. I want this year to be better than you could have ever imagined and I want you to make as many memories as you can before you leave the friendly confines of HPHS. Make sure that you attend every event that our school has to offer and support your friends as they do what they love. You would be amazed at how enjoyable cross country meets, band competitions, cheer competitions, and Spring athletic events can be so don't miss those!! Soak in every opportunity you have and cherish these days because being a Bronco truly is something special!
I would also like to thank the community of Holly Pond for the way you have showed up and worked to help us get the school year going! There have been countless people show up to help paint, work in flower beds, build, and reorganize all over our campus and without your help and support Holly Pond High School would not be what we are today!!
IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A BRONCO!!

AP's Input
The year is underway, and there has already been much excitement! I am thrilled that our school was able to give students our VIP cards that enable them to freely attend all regular-season athletic events on our campus! This move is making waves across not only our county, but the northern part of our state. At Holly Pond, we love our students and we want all of our Holly Pond family to be out in full force at our games and competitions.
On that note, our athletic program is off to a great start with multiple wins already being notched. I am looking forward to seeing more from volleyball, cross-country, football, band, and cheer. We also have some FFA events that are starting up, and we know that Mr. Roden and the gang will make us proud as always! The Key Club has been active, too, sending around the happy cart with treats for faculty and staff.
All these things and more are in my thoughts right now. As we move forward, I want to encourage our students to do their best to keep up with grades and assignments. I know that it can be difficult to balance academics and extracurricular activities. Some of you even have jobs! Hang in there, though, because an education is a beautiful thing. Most of all, treat each other with love and respect. Remember, we are family–Bronco family! AS

ACT Test Date
SENIORS- It is a good idea to attempt the ACT again to increase your score. This will help with college admission and scholarships. Sign up by September 20th for the October 26th test. I will be happy to help you with this process!
9th-11th Grade- Please keep in mind that all of the courses you take count toward your final GPA! This includes all of your core and elective courses, so work hard each and every day!
Bronco Volleyball
The volleyball program has had a productive July. We kicked off our summer with a Wallace State Camp, then our girls worked hard at every practice and played in several play dates. I believe the hard work the girls have put in is paying off. Our team has already demonstrated remarkable improvement from the beginning of the summer to where we are now.
What I am most excited about this season is seeing the girls grow and develop. We lost 7 seniors from last year’s team. Obviously, replacing that many key players in one season is a difficult task, but I believe this group has what it takes to handle that adjustment well. These girls are up for the challenge, and I am confident that they will continue to improve as a team throughout this volleyball season. One thing that we have been seeking to drive home throughout this summer is having a we-mentality rather than a me-mentality. As our girls buy into this mindset and play unselfishly, I believe they can accomplish great things together.
Varsity Football
After six weeks of summer workouts and 15 summer practices, the varsity football team is ready to get the season started and see all of the work come to fruition. The summer was highlighted by practices and competition work at Danville High School in late June, the Northwest FCA 7 on 7 Tournament at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, and practices and competition work at J.B. Pennington in mid July. Our young men were a play away from winning the small school division championship at Point Mallard and went 6-1 for the tournament. Led by all 10 of our seniors, the summer work put in by our guys was tremendous and we look forward to it paying off this fall.
Back to school means back to real football and putting the pads on while the sounds of our band’s drumline and cheerleaders echo in the distance. It’s here, and we cannot wait to see these young men get a chance to show our community and region how hard they have worked for the opportunity that the football schedule of 2024 presents! Come out and support our young men this fall as they put on the green and white battle for our school and town each and every Friday night!
Roll Pond Roll!!!

Bringin’ the Boogie Back!
What a great start to the year. “Great” is relative with perspective. Through tragedy our
community came together to work towards a common goal. People connected only
through the love of music stepped up to help out and made us stronger. People came to
a closer relationship with Christ, our LORD.
Our show is challenging, music and drill. The Bronco Band is getting stronger day by
day. They are excited for the opportunity to perform for their community. We have many
opportunities to be scene all year: football games, contests at Dora, West End, and
Hanceville high schools. Our Veterans Day program is unmatched with honor and
appreciation for those that have served our country. We perform at the Cullman City and
Cullman County Christmas Parades. This year our jazz band will host a Big Band
Christmas, with special guests performing. Stay tuned. We will take the bands (High
School and Intermediate) to our State Music Performance Assessment in February. Our
Jazz Band will participate in the 2 nd MPA festival for Jazz Band in Alabaster, AL. The
Bronco Band will travel to OrlandoFest in Orlando, FL, for their performance
assessment in April 2025. So, yes, the Bronco Band is “BRINGIN’ THE BOOGIE
BACK!”
