Millswood Middle School news:
Thank you Grizzlies
Last week was like no other and I would like you to know your cooperation and support have been invaluable during this time. Please understand that our priority continues to be the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We have a talented team in place to provide support as needed. Thank you for your trust and partnership.
Disney Day on Friday was a hit and really made this place feel like the happiest place to be!
Thank you to those that could come and enjoy lunch with your student last Monday. The turnout was incredible! And it was quite a treat to have our favorite food with our favorite people!

Student Leadership News:
We had a fun week finding little green soldiers hidden throughout our school to coincide with the 8th grade ELA reading of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. Our week wrapped up with Disney Day. We were able to watch Disney shorts at lunch and listen to Disney music outside.
Our first dance of the year is on Thursday from 6:00-7:30. Tickets will be free, but students must have at least a 2.0 GPA and no suspensions in order to attend. Tickets will be distributed Monday-Wednesday at lunch.
One House day left before our Quarter Winner will be announced! Wear your house shirts on Wednesday and earn your house points.
Parent Club
Candy donations please
Please donate bags of candy for our dance this week! Students will have the chance to play games and earn candy during the dance. We need your help to make it happen. Buy a bag of candy and ask your student to drop it off to the office in the morning! (Wednesday will be the last day) They will earn a signature on their reward card for each bag!
From Our Teachers:
Art and Design students
Several Art & Design Millswood Artists shined their creative light in this year's Grape Festival. Here is a handful of the many artworks that were submitted and exhibited for our Lodi Community to admire. Our Grizzlies brought home six 1st place ribbons, five 2nd place ribbons and two third place ribbons. We’re so proud of all of our students who stepped up to the challenge to showcase their artistic gifts.
Performing Arts
Our Performing Arts class is collecting props and costumes for their upcoming productions. If you have any costumes that you will no longer be using, or items you would like to donate, please email Mrs. Welk at cwelk@lodiusd.net and let her know what you have available. Some specific things they are looking for are: fake food, silverware set, thick, reusable plastic plates, cups, and bowls, serving trays, old fashioned phones, plastic flowers, and an old fashioned purse, fabric for making costumes, but really, interesting random items can be fun for the kids to work with.
Please, no cologne
Cologne or body spray should be left at home! These items are not needed at school.
Eat at Panda on Friday!
Our teachers are already preparing for next year's trip to Catalina. Support their efforts by eating at Panda Express on Friday September 27th (near Walmart). Present the flyer below at the time that your order.
