Autumn Term -21st November 2024
Message from the Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
Brrr! The temperature has most definitely dropped so please make sure your child has a coat and even a hat and gloves in school as playtime and lunchtime can be chilly.
You will have noticed both year 6 and year 3 children completed their bikeability and safer walking training over the last couple of weeks. That is all completed now and the children are fully trained to be safe outside the school. If year 6 pupils wish to bring a bike to school, then a licence should be applied for. Please see link below.
You may have noticed the coffee cart on site this morning. This is something we do for the staff as part of "low level week". I hope you took the opportunity to get a hot drink however I would like to remind you that you should not bring in hot drinks to school when attending events such as assemblies or showcases.
It was wonderful to welcome year 4 parents this morning for the showcase and I'm sure you enjoyed sharing your child's achievements with them.
The seasonal festivities are just around the corner, please don't forget to read "What's happening this Christmas ...". A link is below.
Next week starts the xmas festivities with the HPPA Christmas Shopping Day on Thursday followed by a mufti day on Friday where children may wear mufti into school in exchange for a bottle or an age appropriate and complete toy.
Next Saturday is the HPPA Christmas Fair & Grotto at HISN. You can pre-book your Santa slot via Classlist.
It was wonderful to see so many of you during the parent consultations last week. The governors and ELT welcome your feedback and governors will let you know of the outcome.
The Sky advert that was filmed at HJS is finally out. The school is definitely visible but only just!
Finally, in your child's bookbag today are raffle tickets for our first ever HPPA Christmas Raffle. Tickets are £1 each and need to be returned by 30th November. Collection buckets will be in both HISN and HJS playgrounds from tomorrow. The draw will take place on 1st December and winners will be contacted. Good luck!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Message from the office
Medical/Dental Appointments
Whilst we appreciate that sometimes medical appointments are last minute due to availability if you could inform the office with as much notice as possible this would be greatly appreciated to enable us enough time to process the request and give the teacher notice that a student is leaving early.
Year 6 School Journey to Bude 2025
A reminder to year 5 parents, to complete the below eform to indicate whether your child will attend the Y6 residential visit to Adventure Bude (Monday 8th - Friday 12th September 2025). The deposit payment of £100 will be due by Friday 29th November 2024.
Spring Term Clubs
We are pleased to confirm the below spring term clubs which start in the New Year w/c 13th January until 24th March (ten weeks excluding half term).
Basketball is not currently continuing into the Spring term. We are looking at alternative providers and if we do not have a provider for the Spring term, it will hopefully return in the Summer term.
Full details of these clubs along with sign up information will go live to all parents on Thursday 28th November at 7pm.
