Dr. Connie Johnson
April 7 Keynote: Maximizing Employment Potential in Youth with Disabilities
Youth with lifelong disabilities, spanning diagnoses like Down syndrome, Autism, and Intellectual Disability, often grapple with insufficient physical fitness and decreased mental health. This deficit not only impacts their physical health but permeates all facets of life, from daily routines to school engagement, community involvement, and even their capacity to secure meaningful employment. To effectively support these individuals, stakeholders including teachers, related service personnel, and school districts must craft robust programs geared toward enhancing physical fitness and capability as well as mental well-being.
Connie will join us on Monday for her keynote and three additional sessions of progressive learning. Participation is required in each of the previous sessions to advance to subsequent sessions. Attendees may not attend session three, if they have not taken one and two.
Dr. Varleisha Lyons (Gibbs)
April 8 Keynote: The Neuroscience of Resilience: Empowering Educators and Therapists to Foster Growth
Varleisha joins us Tuesday for a keynote presentation and two additional breakout sessions.
