Superintendent Community Update
February 16, 2024
Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
I encourage students to pause, unwind, and enjoy some well-deserved time off next week as there is no school February 19-23!
District Athletics
This past week, a few of our school's athletic teams were featured in local newspapers, so I thought I'd highlight them here!
- The Westmoor High School varsity boys basketball team was featured in the February 14 Daily Journal as they are the PAL's (Peninsula Athletic League) Lake Division champions, a title last earned by the school in 1999,. They will soon compete for the CCS (Central Coast Section) title!
- Oceana boys varsity basketball was mentioned in the February 14 online edition of the Pacifica Tribune, as the team won their first league game since 2018. Well done!! Coach Dan Jonhston said he "was very excited for the boys, especially seniors Cole and James. They worked hard and I am excited about our upcoming CCS game this Friday."
Many of our student athletes and teams from the winter sports season are moving on to playoff games. To see updated game day info, check out their school websites, along with updates in their school newsletters. You can also find information about CCS (Central Coast Section) playoff games by visiting their website here.
District Office Closed on Monday
Please note that the District Office will be closed on Monday, February 19, in observance of President's Day, and all school sites will be closed next week with school resuming on Monday, February 26.
Enjoy the February Break!
Warmly,
Toni Presta
