Election BC's Youth at the Booth program
Elections BC’s Youth at the Booth program for the provincial election coming up on October 19, 2024. This program aims to hire skilled secondary students to work as election officials and engage them in the electoral process.
They are looking for students who are:
- between 15 and 19,
- interested in community service, student government or service clubs,
- able to work in a neutral and impartial way, and
- comfortable using technology.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, have a valid SIN and their parent’s or guardian’s approval to apply.

Youth at the Booth participants will:
- work as an election official at a voting place in their local community,
- earn at least $390 for attending training and working a full day,
- obtain valuable work experience for their resume and post-secondary applications, and
- learn about elections and voting.

Reading Buddies: Teen Applications Fall 2024 @ Tillicum Elementary School
If you are in grades 6-12, like working with children, enjoy reading, and want to help young readers, we NEED you!
7In Reading Buddies, our teen volunteers mentor children in Grades 2-4 with reading practice, literacy-based activities and fun. We provide training and, upon completion, a reference letter outlining your volunteer hours.
Training Day: Tuesday October 1st 3:30-4:30pm
Reading Buddies Sessions: Mondays Oct 7 to Dec 2 -3:30-4:30pm
no sessions Oct 14 (Thanksgiving) and Nov 11 (Remembrance Day)
Location: Tillicum Elementary School Library
