Summer Updates
First and foremost, I would like to thank VC alum, Melissa Hanley Singh '05, for her hard work over the last year as editor of the VRCS Newsletter. She did an amazing job, and set the bar incredibly high! I apologize now for any oversights or errors that I may make. Please send any critiques or requests for changes to my email.
Second, I want to share how extremely excited I am to begin this new school year. I will never forget my work at Venango Catholic High School, and its legacy will no doubt influence all that I do. I truly hope to keep the Viking spirit alive as much as possible moving forward.
With that being said, there are some wonderful things happening at St. Stephen School, and I am proud to say that Catholic Education in Venango County is ALIVE AND WELL!
- Grades 7 and 8 are returning to our building and the top floor will house a middle school program. Our staff will work to intentionally prepare students both socially and academically for 9th grade. We believe that the strong foundation received at St. Stephen School will no doubt produce the future valedictorians, scholar athletes and good citizens of our surrounding public high schools.
- With the help of McKenzie Healy and Bob Larkin, work on the playground is in progress! We have purchased a wonderful set of equipment that will be an asset to our campus. This will be an ongoing project with lots of opportunities for expansion.
- The bottom floor dehumidifier systems are up and running! The air quality is noticeably improved and we will see a difference in wear-and-tear on the building as well as electricity costs.
- NEW THIS YEAR--All families are asked to attend a parent-orientation on August 19th. There will be two sessions: 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, both in the cafeteria. At each session, families will be given their paperwork to sign and complete for the school year, as well as learn about many new and exciting changes. There will be information on the return of parent partnership hours, as well as the integration of our new student information system, FACTS.
Peace,
Ms. Chandley
