The WSD Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, Dec. 19, that was live-streamed via the WSD Board of Education YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Diligent Community. Below are some highlights.

Policies 4505, 2220, 2340, 3270, 4565, 6191
The Board approved the following policies as presented:
No-Tax-Rate-Increase Bond Issue
The Board approved the resolution authorizing a special election to issue general obligation bonds. The resolution calls for the issuance of $135 million in general obligation bonds.
Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Independent Audit
A representative from Fick, Eggemeyer & Williamson, CPAs presented its third-party audit report for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The WSD received a clean audit of its financial records, accounting practices, and compliance with state and federal requirements during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2024. The report came back with no reportable concerns or recommendations. The Board voted to acknowledge receipt of the report.
Policies - First Read
The Board reviewed the following policies for a first reading:
- Policy 6145 - Service Animals and Therapy Dogs in Schools
- Policy 6255 - Independent Ed Eval Procedures Under IDEA
These policies will come back to the Board in January for a second reading.
Discussions
North Point High School Cheer
Congratulations to North Point High School's varsity cheerleading team for earning the 4A Large Division state champion title. The team also took home the regional title! Read more.
Cross Country State Champion
Liberty High School sophomore Bella Navarro-Sanchez claimed the Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 5 State Girls Cross Country Championship title this fall. In a nail-biting finish, Navarro-Sanchez edged out her competition by a tenth of a second! Read more.
Resignations
The Board accepted the resignation of Stacy Schwartz, special education coordinator, effective Jan. 3, 2025.
