Spring is in full swing, and we’ll be able to enjoy it fully, during our long weekend. Take some time to smell the flowers, pause to reflect on your family and your blessings. Once we return to school, we’ll officially be only one month out until the last day of school. 5th grade parents, there are two very important deadlines I’d like to bring to your attention before we break for the extended weekend. Please note those dates in the calendar below.

Upcoming PTA/Campus Events:

DEADLINE for 5th grade PICS for graduation: April 18th

DEADLINE to order 5th grade t-shirts: April 21st

No school: April 18th and 21st

Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5th-9th

5th grade party: May 22nd, 9-11am (TSHIRT SALES ARE OPEN AGAIN, SEE NEON DISCO BELOW)

Early Dismissal, Last Day of School: May 22nd

Pics or it didn’t happen!!! 5Th grade parents, I cannot believe we are nearing the end of our time at Hayes!! In preparation for the 5th grade graduation AND party, we need your help! There are TWO items in particular we’d like to have emailed to us, DEADLINE TOMMORROW.

Details below:

First item: Digital copies of 2 photos, one photo of your child from Kindergarten AND one recent/5th grade photo of your child.

Second item: DIGITAL copies 5 photos of your child, sent along with the name of your child. Images may include first day of school, class parties, field and school events or even fun moments with friends or teachers. A slideshow of your child will be created using images you provide. Please provide your child’s name and YOUR contact information in the email as well.

These should be sent to this email address JHE2025photos@gmail.com NOT LATER THAN 4/18/25.

Saying goodbye in style, the 5th grade party will be held on the last day of school, Thursday, May 22nd from 9-11am. We’re excited to host our graduates for food, drinks, games and a dance party featuring a DJ, photobooth, sand art and giveways! Join your Hayes PTA! We are looking for committee chairs for next year! Committee positions are a fun way to get more involved at school! Leaving Hayes? Did you miss out an opportunity to volunteer there or would you like to continue into junior high? McMeans Junior High School is looking for volunteers on it’s PTA Board. Teacher Appreciation Week is about a month away! May 5th-9th your PTA will put an exclamation point on the year by celebrating the staff at Hayes. Teacher appreciation week includes all those you see at Hayes, from the nurse to your homeroom teacher, the custodial staff to the lunch personnel. A culmination of treats and lunches and good vibes to relay how much we appreciate our school community.

This event is led by the PTA but it’s your gratitude that means the most. Please see the flyer/PDF attachment below and information on how you can contribute to this event, the cherry on top of another amazing year.
